Inferno (Marvel Comics)
"Inferno" was a 1989 Marvel Comics company-wide fictional crossover#Comics, crossover storyline centered upon the X-Men family of titles, including ''The Uncanny X-Men'', ''X-Factor (comic book), X-Factor'', ''X-Terminators'', ''Excalibur (comic book), Excalibur'', and ''The New Mutants (comic book), The New Mutants''. The story's inciting incident is demonic invasion of New York City, and its main character arcs were the corruption of Madelyne Pryor into the Goblin Queen, and the final transformation of Illyana Rasputin into the Darkchylde. Blackthorne Publishing Inc. was an American comic book publisher that flourished from 1986 to 1989. They were notable for the ''Blackthorne 3-D Series'', their reprint titles of classic comic strips like Dick Tracy, and their licensed products. Blackthorne achieved its greatest sales and financial success with their licensed 3-D comics adaptations of the California Raisins, but the financial loss suffered by the failure of their 3-D adaptation of Michael Jackson's film ''Moonwalker'' was a major contributor to the publisher's downfall. History Blackthorne was established in 1985 by husband-and-wife team Steve Schanes and Ann Fera, formerly associated with Pacific Comics (which had gone out of business in 1984). After Schanes was fired from Pacific Comics, he needed a job in order to pay debts for himself and family. Marc Sleen
Marcel Honoree Nestor ( ridder) Neels (30 December 1922 – 6 November 2016), known as Marc Sleen, was a Belgian comics artist. He was mostly known for his humorous adventure comic '' The Adventures of Nero and Co.'', but also created gag comics like '' Piet Fluwijn en Bolleke'', '' De Lustige Kapoentjes'', '' Doris Dobbel'', '' Oktaaf Keunink'' and '' De Ronde van Frankrijk''. Sleen was one of the most celebrated comics artists in his home country. His work is admired for its absurd and sometimes satirical comedy, as well for the fact that he worked completely singlehandedly without any assistance for 45 years on end, a feat that landed him a spot in '' The Guinness Book of Records'' in 1992. (This feat has been surpassed since by Jim Russell's '' The Potts'', which ran for 62 years.) He was one of the few comics artists in Belgium who had a museum dedicated to his work. ''Dragon Ball Z'' (''DBZ'') is a Japanese anime television series produced by Toei Animation. The Comics Code Authority (CCA) was formed in 1954 by the Comics Magazine Association of America as an alternative to government regulation. The CCA enabled comic publishers to self-regulate the content of American comic book, comic books in the United States. The code was voluntary, as there was no law requiring its use, although some advertisers and retailers looked to it for reassurance.
