Holyoke Publishing
The Holyoke Publishing Company was an American magazine and comic-book publisher with offices in Holyoke, and Springfield, Massachusetts, and New York City, Its best-known comics characters were Blue Beetle and the superhero duo Cat-Man (later rendered as Catman, sans hyphen) and Kitten, all inherited from defunct former clients of Holyoke's printing business. Holyoke is sometimes confused with companies owned by Frank Z. Temerson, including Helnit, Et-Es-Go, and Continental; with Worth Carnahan's Bilbara Publishing Company; and with Temerson's art director L. B. Cole's packaging clients Narrative Publishers and Aviation Press. Captain Marvel Adventures
''Captain Marvel Adventures'' is a long running comic book anthology series that was published by Fawcett Comics, starring Captain Marvel during the Golden Age of Comic Books. Publication history The series was the first solo series starring the superhero after he was the star of the anthology title '' Whiz Comics''. It was first released in 1941. The premiere issue was written and drawn by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby. The series was a huge success at the time. It sold 14 million copies in 1944, and was at one point being published bi-weekly with a circulation of 1.3 million copies an issue. Several issues of ''Captain Marvel Adventures'' included a blurb on their covers proclaiming the series the "Largest Circulation of Any Comic Magazine". The series would be cancelled with issue #150 in November 1953. Star Spangled Comics
''Star Spangled Comics'' is a comics anthology published by DC Comics which ran for 130 issues from October 1941 to July 1952. It was then retitled ''Star Spangled War Stories'' and lasted until issue #204 (February–March 1977). Publication history ''Star Spangled Comics'' debuted with an October 1941 cover date. The series began as a superhero title featuring the adventures of the Star-Spangled Kid and Stripesy who appeared until #86 (November 1948). This feature had the distinction of a teen hero with an older sidekick (the reverse of the usual arrangement). With issue #7 (April 1942), the title starred the Joe Simon and Jack Kirby-created Newsboy Legion. A series of stories featuring Robin, the Boy Wonder began in issue #65 (February 1947) and continued through the end of the title with issue #130, and primarily featured Robin solo adventures, but also included some occasional cameos by Batman. ''Sensation Comics'' is the title of an American comic book comics anthology, anthology series published by DC Comics that ran for 109 issues from 1942 to 1952. For most of its run, the lead feature was Wonder Woman, a character which had been introduced in ''All Star Comics'' All Star Comics 8, #8 (October 1941). Mystery Men Comics
''Mystery Men Comics'' was an anthology American comic book series from the Golden Age of Comic Books published by Fox Feature Syndicate. The series was Fox's second title after the '' Wonderworld Comics'' series being first published in August 1939. The series would debut two superheroes in its first issue: the Green Mask and Dan Garret (the first Blue Beetle who would later have his own spinoff series). The first issue was also notable for being one of the two comic book issues debuting John Tuska's work. The series would end in issue #31 in February 1942.
