Bus Transport In Warsaw
Bus transport in Warsaw was introduced in 1920. Since 1994, services have been managed by Zarząd Transportu Miejskiego w Warszawie (ZTM Warszawa), and operated by various companies under contract. ZTM's fleet consists of 1787 vehicles, which cover 288 lines. In 1921, three lines were opened. From November 1939 the regular liquidation of the rolling stock began, only one car survived the war. Bus transport appeared again in April 1945. The first night bus appeared on the streets of Warsaw in 1963. On March 11, 1994, the Warsaw transport was reorganized. In November 1994, the first German low-floor Neoplan N4020 was put into operation. 1999 was marked by modern and low-floor Solaris Urbino 15 buses. In 2002, MAN buses joined the Solarises. MAN Lion's City
The MAN Lion's City is a range of low-floor and low-entry public buses built by German truck and bus manufacturer MAN Truck & Bus (previously MAN Nutzfahrzeuge) since 1996 primarily for the European market, but is also available in chassis-only variants worldwide. The name ''Lion's City'' has been used since 2006, when MAN's public bus models which had been marketed separately were gathered into one range, when also most models received a facelift. The first models to be introduced were the 12-metre low-floor intercity bus ''NÜ xx3'' (A20) in 1996, the 12-metre city bus ''NL xx3'' (A21) in 1997 and the articulated ''NG xx3'' (A23) in 1998. As with former MAN bus models the power-rating made up part of the model name, giving the NÜ-series buses with power-ratings of 260 and 310 hp model names ''NÜ 263'' and ''NÜ 313'' respectively. Fabryka Samochodów Osobowych ( en, Passenger Car Factory), commonly known as FSO, is a Polish automobile parts manufacturer, and formerly an automobile producer of historic significance, located in Warsaw. In 2011 the factory ceased production amidst the backdrop of the global crisis, but directly as a result of GM Korea's refusal to prolong the factory's licence to produce the Aveo. GM claimed that one of the reasons for breaking the cooperation with FSO was the entry into force of the EU-South Korea Free Trade Agreement, which stipulated that import duties on cars imported from South Korea (then at 10%) were to be progressively eliminated. Since then, FSO has been producing automotive sub-assemblies. Tarchomin
Tarchomin is a neighborhood of Białołęka district, in northern Warsaw, Poland. History The village of Tarchomin has been known since the Middle Ages. Its name appears in documents as early as the 13th century. It was a noble village, inhabited by the Jastrzębiec family. Warszawa Ursus Railway Station
Warszawa Ursus railway station is a railway station in the Ursus district of Warsaw, Poland. The station is served by Koleje Mazowieckie, who run trains from Skierniewice to Warszawa Wschodnia, and Szybka Kolej Miejska, who run trains from Pruszków PKP to Otwock. Mariensztat
Mariensztat () is a historic neighbourhood along the Vistula river in central Warsaw, the capital of Poland. Situated between the riverbank and the UNESCO-protected Old Town, Mariensztat is part of the larger Śródmieście (Downtown) borough and is one of the city's smallest suburbs. History Most of contemporary Mariensztat was once beneath the water level, however, as the waters in the Vistula shifted eastward, more land on the river's western bank emerged and became available for settlement. The historical neighbourhood was officially established in 1762, when local nobleman Eustachy Potocki married Maria Kątska and received the parcel of land as part of Kątska's dowry. Stadion Narodowy Metro Station
Stadion Narodowy is an underground station on the central part of Line M2 of the Warsaw Metro. It is named after the Stadion Narodowy (National Stadium), which is located in the area. The station fully opened for passenger use on 8 March 2015 as part of the inaugural stretch of Line M2 between Rondo Daszyńskiego and Dworzec Wileński. It was designed by Polish architect Andrzej M. Chołdzyński and constructed by Metroprojekt. Murals were created by Wojciech Fangor, artist of the Polish School of Posters. The station was constructed under Sokola street parallel to the Warsaw Stadion railway station, which was refurbished at the same time, with a direct interchange between them. Warszawa Wschodnia, in English Warsaw East, is one of the most important railway stations in Warsaw, Poland. Its more official name is ''Warszawa Wschodnia Osobowa'' (translated as ''Warsaw East Passenger''). Wilanów
Wilanów () is a district of the city of Warsaw, Poland. It is home to historic Wilanów Palace, the "Polish Versailles," and second home to various Polish kings. History The first mentions of a settlement in the area can be traced to the 13th century, when a village named ''Milanów'' was founded by the Benedictine monastery of Płock. In 1338 it became a private property of the Dukes of Mazovia and in 1378 Prince Janusz I of Warsaw gave it to one of his servants.
