Burkan Al-Furat
Burkan al-Furat () is a militant organization in Syria that operates in Deir ez-Zor Governorate, Damascus Governorate and Latakia Governorate History In November 2024, Burkan al-Furat carried out their first attack on the 20th against the Russian and Iranian intervention in Syria and against the Syrian Democratic Forces, killing Abu Fatima al-Iraqi, commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard together with Jaafar al-Tayyar Brigades. Deir Ez-Zor Governorate
Deir ez-Zor Governorate ( / ALA-LC: ''Muḥāfaẓat Dayr az-Zawr,'' Kurdish'':'' ''Parêzgeha Dêrezor'') is one of the fourteen governorates (provinces) of Syria. It is situated in eastern Syria, bordering Iraq. It has an area of 33,060 km2 (12,760 sq mi) and a population of 1,239,000 (2011 estimate). The capital is Deir ez-Zor. It is divided roughly equally from northwest to southeast by the Euphrates. Ba'athist Syria, officially the Syrian Arab Republic (SAR), was the Syrian state between 1963 and 2024 under the One-party state, one-party rule of the Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party – Syria Region, Syrian regional branch of the Ba'ath Party (Syrian-dominated faction), Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party. Bassem Yakhour
Bassem Yakhour (; born August 16, 1971) is a Syrian actor, writer and director. Career Born in Latakia to a Greek Orthodox family, Bassem Yakhour graduated from the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts in 1993 and joined the Syrian Artists Syndicate on February 16, 1999. Since 1993, Yakhour has acted in many television series, stage productions, and theater. He was also a television presenter for a short time for a show called "Charisma". He also directed a series in 2004 and a play in 2000. Today, he is known for the ''Spotlight'' series, for which he co-writes and acts. The latter was an important contribution to Syrian art, although critics were very harsh. Khmeimim Air Base
Khmeimim Air Base (), also Hmeimim Air Base (), is a Syrian airbase currently operated by Russia, located south-east of the city of Latakia in , Latakia Governorate, Syria and approximately 2 miles north-east of the coastal town of Jableh. The airbase shares some airfield facilities with Latakia Airport. The legal status of the base is regulated by a treaty Russia and Syria signed in August 2015. Hayat Tahrir Al-Sham
Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) was a Sunni Islamist political organisation and paramilitary group involved in the Syrian civil war. It was formed on 28January 2017 as a merger between several armed groups: Jaysh al-Ahrar (an Ahrar al-Sham faction), Jabhat Fateh al-Sham (JFS), Ansar al-Din Front, Jaysh al-Sunna, Liwa al-Haqq, and the Nour al-Din al-Zenki Movement. The unification process was held under the initiative of Abu Jaber Sheikh, an Islamist militant commander who had been the second emir of Ahrar al-Sham. Al-Dumayr Air Base
Al-Dumayr Air Base () is a Syrian Arab Air Force installation located 40 kilometers north-east of Damascus, Syria. The airbase was used extensively by the Syrian Arab Air Forces and Iranian Armed Forces during the Syrian Civil War. History The base was used to support the army campaign on Eastern Ghouta. On February 22, 2018, Jaysh al-Islam bombed the airbase in an effort to weaken Syrian attacks on the rebel held enclave. Al-Asharah (, also spelled al-Ashareh or Esharah) is a town in eastern Syria, administratively part of the Deir ez-Zor Governorate, located along the Euphrates River, south of Deir ez-Zor. Nearby localities include al-Quriyah to the northeast, Makhan and Mayadin to the north, Suwaydan Jazirah to the southeast and Dablan to the south.
