Bulbul
The bulbuls are members of a family, Pycnonotidae, of medium-sized passerine songbirds, which also includes greenbuls, brownbuls, leafloves, and bristlebills. The family is distributed across most of Africa and into the Middle East, tropical Asia to Indonesia, and north as far as Japan. A few insular species occur on the tropical islands of the Indian Ocean. There are 166 species in 32 genera. While different species are found in a wide range of habitats, the African species are predominantly found in rainforest, whereas Asian bulbuls are predominantly found in more open areas. Taxonomy The family Pycnonotidae was introduced by the English zoologist George Robert Gray in 1840 as a subfamily Pycnonotinae of the thrush family Turdidae. The Persian word ''bulbul'' (بلبل) is sometimes used to refer to the " nightingale" as well as the bulbul, but the English word ''bulbul'' refers to the birds discussed in this article. Bulbul, Syria
Bulbul () is a village in northern Syria, administratively part of the Aleppo Governorate, located northwest of Aleppo near the Turkish border. Nearby localities include Maydan Ikbis to the west, Rajo to the southwest and Maabatli to the south. Population According to the Syria Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Bulbul had a population of 1,742 in the 2004 census. Bulbul (singer)
Bulbul (22 June 189726 September 1961, born Murtuza Mashadi Rza oghlu Mammadov) was an Azerbaijani people, Azerbaijani and Soviet people, Soviet operatic tenor, folk music performer, and one of the founders of vocal arts and national musical theatre in Azerbaijan. Biography Bulbul was born in 1897 in , a hamlet in the former royal gardens between Shusha and Khankandi. His mother was from the village of Pareular, the daughter of a nomad Kurds, Kurd. He was known for his musical talent since his childhood, which is why people nicknamed him Bulbul ("nightingale" in Azerbaijani language, Azerbaijani). He chose it as a stage name when he became involved in professional music. While still a young khananda, he was invited to Baku in 1920 to perform the role of Karam in Uzeyir Hajibeyov's opera ''Asli and Karam''. Bulbul Chowdhury
Bulbul Chowdhury (1 January 1919 – 17 May 1954), real name Rashid Ahmed Chowdhury, was a Bengali dancer of British India, and later East Pakistan. He is primarily regarded as a pioneer of modern dance in Bangladesh, as a founding figure of dance among the conservative Muslim community. Early life and education Chowdhury was born in Chunati village Under Satkania Upazila in what is now Lohagara Upazila, Chittagong, on 1 January 1919. His father, Mohammed Azamullah, was an inspector (later promoted to Deputy Superintendent of Police) in the then Bengal Police Service during British Reign. His maternal grandfather, Munshi Fazar Ali Dewan, was a lawyer of Calcutta High Court who also practiced at Chittagong. Chowdhury was home tutored in Arabic and Persian. Bulbul Hussain (; born 3 January 1972) is a British wheelchair rugby player who plays for Kent Crusaders and the Great Britain Great Britain is an island in the North Atlantic Ocean off the north-west coast of continental Europe, consisting of the countries England, Scotland, and Wales.
