Bruce Allen (American Football)
Bruce Gerald Allen (born October 26, 1956) is an American former professional football executive. He served as general manager in the National Football League (NFL) for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 2004 to 2008 and the Washington Redskins from 2010 to 2019. He first joined the NFL as a senior executive with the Oakland Raiders in 1995. Allen played college football as a punter for the Richmond Spiders and was selected by the Baltimore Colts in the 12th round of the 1978 NFL draft, but never played. Allen is the son of Pro Football Hall of Fame coach George Allen and younger brother of former Virginia governor and U.S. Senator George Allen. Bruce Allen (manager)
Bruce Allen is a Canadian music band manager who has represented a number of popular Canadian musicians including Bachman-Turner Overdrive, Jann Arden, Anne Murray, Bryan Adams, Prism, Loverboy and Michael Bublé. He also manages music producer Bob Rock and American rock band The Offspring. In 1985, Allen spearheaded the charity supergroup Northern Lights, who recorded the song " Tears Are Not Enough" in support of Ethiopian famine relief. Allen hosted SoundOff, a popular call-in talk show on 99.3 CFOX-FM in Vancouver for much of the 1990s. He now does a daily commentary for CKNW's talk radio show called Reality Check. In 2005, Allen was the recipient of the Special Achievement Award at the SOCAN Awards in Toronto. He is a co-owner of a WHL team, the Vancouver Giants. Bruce Allen (born May 11, 1959) is an American physicist and director at the Max Planck Institute for Gravitational Physics in Hannover, Germany, and founder and leader of the distributed volunteer computing project Einstein@Home project. He is a honorary physics professor at Leibniz University Hannover, an adjunct physics professor at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee, and also the initiator / project leader of smartmontools hard disk utility. He has done research work on models of the very early universe (inflationary cosmology, cosmic strings), the detection and data analysis of gravitational waves, and has expertise in the development and operation of large computer clusters. Allen currently leads a research group working on the detection of gravitational waves in data from ground-based interferometric detectors and from pulsar timing arrays, and on radio, gamma-ray and gravitational-wave signals from rotating neutron stars. Bruce Allen (born in 1950) is an American retired drag racer. Career Early life and career Allen was born around in 1950, and comes from Goodrich, Michigan. He graduated from high school in Goodrich in 1968. Allen grew up in an area where oval tracks were dominant. Early on, he showed no interest in them, but did gain an interest in muscle cars. Allen first became involved in drag racing in 1964 when he attended a drag racing event in Ubly, Michigan. Allen's first car for drag racing was a 1966 Oldsmobile 442 whose engine kept breaking, with Allen later switching to a Chevrolet L-88 engine. In 1970, Allen owned and operated a gasoline station and the same year saw him team up with Jim Hanley, a member of the Gratiot Auto Supply team, to run a 1964 Chevrolet Corvette in the D/MP and E/MP racing categories.
