The British records in swimming are ratified by the United Kingdom's governing body in swimming, British Swimming. Luke Greenbank (born 17 September 1997) is an English professional swimmer who specialises in backstroke. A medalist in the 200 metre backstroke at the Olympic Games and the World and European championships, he also swam the first leg in the 2019 World and 2020 European Championship gold medal-winning Great Britain medley relay teams. He won a silver medal as lead-off for Great Britain in the 4 x 100 metre medley relay for men at the 2020 Summer Olympics. He won a gold medal as lead-off for England in the heats of the 4 x 100 metre medley relay for men at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. The men's 4 × 200 metre freestyle relay event at the 2020 Summer Olympics was held on 27 and 28 July 2021 at the Tokyo Aquatics Centre. It will be the event's twenty-sixth consecutive appearance, having been held at every edition since 1908. Duncan William MacNaughton Scott (born 6 May 1997) is a Scottish swimmer representing Great Britain at the FINA World Aquatics Championships and the Olympic Games, and Scotland at the Commonwealth Games. Scott made history after winning four medals - more than any other British athlete at a single Olympic Games in Tokyo 2020 - and becoming Great Britain's most decorated swimmer in Olympic history. James George Guy (born 26 November 1995) is an English competitive swimmer who specialises in freestyle and butterfly. Guy has won gold medals representing Great Britain at the Olympic Games, the World and European Championships, and England in the Commonwealth Games. Guy came to international prominence when he won two World Championship gold medals in the 200-metre freestyle and 4×200-metre freestyle relay event at the 2015 World Aquatics Championships. Thomas William Darnton Dean (born 2 May 2000) is a British competitive freestyle swimmer. He is a double Olympic gold medalist, winning gold individually in 200 metre freestyle and as part of a team in 4 × 200 m freestyle relay at the 2020 Summer Olympics. He has represented Great Britain at the European Junior Championships and the European Championships. He also competed at the 2020 European Championships where he won three gold and two silver medals in the team events and one individual bronze in 200m freestyle. Early life Dean was born to Jacquie Hughes and Jonathan Dean in London, the second of five children. Matthew Richards (born 17 December 2002) is a British swimmer. Richards swam the third leg of the gold-medal winning Great Britain 4 x 200 metre freestyle relay at the 2020 Summer Olympics, the first British team to win the event since 1908. Previously, he had won two silver medals in team freestyle relays at the European Championships. Early life Matt Richards was born in Droitwich, Worcester, England, to Amanda and Simon Richards. In 2020 he joined as the youngest member of the New York Breakers in the International Swimming League as a professional athlete. Lewis Edward Burras (born 12 February 2000) is a British competitive swimmer. He is the British record holder in the long course 100 metre freestyle. He is a 2022 Commonwealth Games silver medalist in the 50 metre freestyle, 4×100 metre freestyle relay, and 4×100 metre mixed freestyle relay, swimming on the finals relay for both relay events.
