Sky UK Limited (formerly British Sky Broadcasting Limited (BSkyB)), trading as Sky, is a British broadcaster and telecommunications company that provides television, broadband internet, fixed line and mobile telephone services to consumers and businesses in the United Kingdom. It is a subsidiary of Sky Group (currently owned by Comcast) and is headquartered at the Sky Studios in Isleworth. Sky is a major media company and the largest British broadcaster by revenue. It operates the Sky News news media organisation, Sky Sports which is the largest sports TV broadcaster in the UK, and the Sky Studios film and TV production company. Sky is also the country's leading provider of pay-TV services (12.7 million customers as of the end of 2019) through its satellite TV platform Sky Q as well as the IPTV-based Sky Glass and Sky Stream products. Sky Witness
Sky Witness is a British pay television channel owned and operated by Sky, a division of Comcast. The channel primarily broadcasts procedural dramas from the United States aimed at the 18–45 age demographic. Sky Italia broadcasts an Italian-language version of Sky Witness, called Sky Investigation, which launched on 1 July 2021. History Sky Witness's history can be traced back to 1993 when UK Living began broadcasting. Sky Max is a British pay television channel and on-demand service which launched on 1 September 2021. It is owned and operated by Sky Group, a subsidiary of Comcast. The service broadcasts a variety of drama, comedy-drama, and unscripted series. Sky Max was announced on 28 July 2021, along with Sky Showcase, to replace Sky One; the former flagship which had been on air for nearly 40 years. Sky Showcase is a British pay television channel which launched on 1 September 2021. It is owned and operated by Sky Group, a division of American media company Comcast. Sky Showcase was announced on 28 July 2021, along with Sky Max, as a replacement for flagship brand Sky One; with its programming transferred to Max and Sky Comedy. Both Showcase and Max would launch on the same day. The channel broadcasts a selection of programmes and simulcasts from across Sky UK's portfolio of channels, including highlights from Sky Cinema, Sky News, and Sky Sports. Sky Q
Sky Q is a subscription-based television and entertainment service operated by British satellite television provider Sky, as a part of its operations in Austria and Germany, Ireland, Italy and in the UK. The name also refers to the Sky Q set-top box. Sky Q launched in 2016 replacing the previous Sky+ and Sky X services. Sky Q has been referred to as a "multimedia platform" that combines conventional television with on-demand and catch-up services, as well as third-party services. It includes a PVR set top box, a multiroom set top box, a dedicated broadband-connected "hub", and applications for mobile and desktop devices. Sky Studios is a production company founded by Sky in June 2019 with assets from the now defunct Sky Vision.
