Cavo
Cavo is an American hard rock band from St. Louis, Missouri. Because of their sound and musical influences, they are sometimes classified as post-grunge as well as alt rock. Band history In late 2000, guitarist Chris Hobbs, bassist Ryan Kemp, and drummer Chad La Roy were searching for a vocalist for their band. With input from close friends Scott Gertken and Rich Criebaum of Modern Day Zero, the three auditioned then-unknown singer Casey Walker. By March 2001, Walker joined the band, and they adopted the name "Hollow". Soon after, Mike "Tomas" Tomasovich joined Hollow as a second guitarist. In 2001, Hollow released a three-song demo with the songs "Fallen", "State of Mind" and "Unsung". Near the end of 2001, the band changed their name to Cavo, which is the word "hollow" in Italian language, Italian. Cavo released their first EP, ''A Space to Fill'', in 2002. Hard rock or heavy rock is a heavier subgenre of rock music typified by aggressive vocals and Distortion (music), distorted electric guitars. Hard rock began in the mid-1960s with the Garage rock, garage, Psychedelic rock, psychedelic and blues rock movements. Post-grunge
Post-grunge is an offshoot of grunge that has a less abrasive or intense tone than traditional grunge. Originally, the term was used almost pejoratively to label mid-1990s alternative rock bands such as Bush (British band), Bush, Candlebox, Collective Soul, Live (band), Live, Foo Fighters, and Silverchair, that emulated the original sound of grunge. David Bendeth
David Jonathan Bendeth (born 17 June 1954) is an English multi-platinum award-winning record producer. He was also the frontman of The Bendeth Band. Early life David Bendeth was born on 17 June 1954 in Stoke Newington, Hackney, London, England. He attended Parkhill School in Ilford, London and in 1963, his family moved to Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Bendeth attended Georges Vanier Secondary School. Following graduation in 1973, Bendeth was to attend university, however he left for a summer vacation to London and stayed there. His first job in London was at Harlequin Records and he eventually joined the house band playing guitar at Speakeasy, a London club, along with Joe Jammer. In 1976, he returned to Canada. He was playing with the band Boule Noire at Riviera 76, a day music festival in Nice, and there he met Jeff Berlin, Lenny White, Joe Beck, and many other jazz musicians. "Champagne" is the lead single from Cavo's debut album, ''Bright Nights Dark Days''. It was released to rock radio at the end of March 2009 and received strong airplay. It peaked at number one on the US Mainstream Rock Songs chart. The song was also used in the Formula One 2010 Canadian Grand Prix race edit. Background In 2006, Cavo had just obtained a new bassist, Brian Smith, and had written one song for their new album. However, when they started practicing in Smith's house, the inspiration came, and they penned several new tracks. One of these was "Champagne". Singer Casey Walker said, "'Champagne,' our first single, is a song that I wrote the chorus in my head and I recorded it on my phone and I showed it to the band almost as a joke because I wasn't sure if it was good or not.
