Bridgewater station is a historic train station located at Bridgewater in Oneida County, New York. It was built in 1901 and is a one-story, rectangular, timber frame building 20 feet by 91 feet. It was built by the short line Unadilla Valley Railway and also served the separate line of the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad branch to Richfield Springs, New York. It ceased use as a station in 1960 and is now home to the Bridgewater Historical Society. Bridgewater (village), New York
Bridgewater is a hamlet (and census-designated place) in Oneida County, New York, United States. The population was 470 at the 2010 census. The hamlet is within the Town of Bridgewater at the junction of U.S. Route 20 and N.Y. Route 8. It was an incorporated village from 1825 to 2014. History The village was incorporated in 1825. The Unadilla Valley Railway had its northern terminus at Bridgewater where it connected to a branch line of the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad. The Brick Store Building and Bridgewater Railroad Station are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. On March 18, 2014, voters approved a referendum by a vote of 40 to 8 to dissolve the village on December 31, 2014. Unadilla Valley Railway
The Unadilla Valley Railway was a shortline railroad company that operated in the Unadilla Valley of upstate New York from its opening in 1895 to its abandonment in 1960. From 1937 onwards, it was owned by the H.E. Salzberg Company.
