Brian Griffin is a fictional character from the American animated sitcom ''Family Guy''. He is one of the main characters of the series and a member of the Griffin family. Created, designed, and voiced by Seth MacFarlane, he is an anthropomorphic white labrador retriever who is the best friend of both Peter and Stewie Griffin and comic foil with the ability to speak, sing, drive, and stand on two legs. Brian first appeared on television, along with the rest of the Griffin family, in the series premiere " Death Has a Shadow" on January 31, 1999. MacFarlane was asked to pitch a pilot to the Fox Broadcasting Company, based on ''The Life of Larry'' and ''Larry & Steve'', two shorts made by MacFarlane featuring a middle-aged character named Larry and an intellectual dog, Steve. Brian Griffin (lacrosse)
Brian Griffin (16 April 1941 – 17 June 2020) was an Australian lacrosse player and one of only two lacrosse players to be inducted into the Sport Australia Hall of Fame. Griffin commenced playing in 1953 for the Nedlands-Subiaco Lacrosse Club in Western Australia, making his A Grade debut in 1957. An attacker of the highest quality, Griffin first represented Australia in their 1962 overseas tour. He took out Australia's highest individual honour in winning the OC Isaachsen Trophy as Australia's best and fairest men's lacrosse player in 1966. Griffin captained the Australian side at the inaugural World Championship in Toronto, Canada, in 1967, and was selected as Australia's most valuable player for the tournament. Being able to throw and catch with both hands was unheard of until then, and he also developed a back-hand shot which made for greater depth in play. Brian James Griffin (April 13th, 1948 –January 27th, 2024) was a British photographer. His portraits of 1980s pop musicians led to him being named the "photographer of the decade" by ''The Guardian'' in 1989. His work is held in the permanent collections of the Arts Council, British Council, Victoria and Albert Museum and National Portrait Gallery, London. Early life Griffin was born in Birmingham on 13 April 1948. He grew up in Lye, a town in the Black Country, an area of the British Midlands, and attended Halesowen Technical School. At age 16, he began working in a factory as a trainee draughtsman. He spent the next few years working in engineering for the British Steel Corporation, first making conveyors and later manufacturing and installing pipework in nuclear power stations.
