Bill Brask
William Jennings Brask Jr. (born December 12, 1946) is an American professional golfer. Although he did not have much success on the PGA Tour he won a number of minor international tournaments. Due to this success overseas – where they used a smaller golf ball – he was referred to as "the king of the small ball" by Lee Trevino. Early life Brask grew up in San Diego, California. He attended the University of Minnesota for college and played on the golf team. He was an All-American in 1967 and 1968. He won the Big Ten Championship in 1968 and finished third in the 1968 NCAA Championships. Professional career Brask successfully got through PGA Tour Qualifying School and played full-time on tour in 1970. He was paired with Arnold Palmer at the first event of the year, the Los Angeles Open. Despite being "nervous as a cat" he played relatively well, finishing T-24. Hans Brask
*Hans Brask (1464–1538) was a Swedish Bishop of Linköping. Biography Brask was born in Linköping in 1464 to a bourgeois family. He studied philosophy and law at German universities, e.g. Rostock, and around 1500 he received a doctoral degree in civil and canon law from Rome. Upon his return to Sweden he first worked as canon and was later, in 1505, appointed cathedral dean in the cathedral of Linköping. He also became a member of the council of the realm (Privy Council of Sweden) and worked for a reconciliation with Denmark, with which Sweden has been at war for some years as part of the ongoing conflicts in the Kalmar Union. In 1513 he was appointed bishop in Linköping. Brask was opposed to Sten Sture's struggle with archbishop Gustav Trolle, but signed a document at the 1517 diet to remove the bishop. Birte Høeg Brask
Birte Høeg Brask nicknamed Trille (1918–1997) was a Danish resistance fighter and physician. During the German occupation of Denmark in World War II, she became a member of the Danish resistance. As a communist, after Germany attacked the Soviet Union in 1941, together with her husband Kjartan Munck, she contributed to the first clandestine publications in Denmark. She went on to collaborate with the writer and resistance fighter Børge Houmann, working as a courier, organizing illegal meetings and contributing to the resistance papers ''Land og Folk'' and ''Ugens Nyt''. Continuing her studies after the war, she became a specialist at the children's psychiatric hospital in Aarhus. From 1970 until her retirement in 1988, she held the position of chief consultant. Høeg Brask is remembered in particular for her ground-breaking contributions to autism. Kristiina Maria Brask (born 2 June 1990) is a Finnish pop singer. She was a finalist in the third season of '' Idols'' in 2007. She was placed third after Ari Koivunen and Anna Abreu. Christina Hansadotter Brask, or ''Christin Hansadotter'' (1459 – 5 March 1520), was a Swedish writer and translator, and a member of the Bridgettine Order in Vadstena Abbey. Biography Christina Hansadotter became a nun at Vadstena Abbey in 1473. Many nuns were active in translating and copying books, and she also became a writer. She co-wrote the book ''Gudelika Snillis Väckiare'' with her colleague Kadrin or Katarina (d. 1519), which was published in the early 16th century, making them the perhaps first female book writers of their country. Kadrin wrote the first half of the book, and Christina the second half. Scandinavian Surnames
Heritable family names were generally adopted rather late within Scandinavia. Nobility were the first to take names that would be passed on from one generation to the next. Later, clergy, artisans and merchants in cities took heritable names.
