Bramalea—Gore—Malton (federal Electoral District)
Bramalea—Gore—Malton (formerly known as Brampton—Malton and Bramalea—Gore—Malton—Springdale) was a federal electoral district in Ontario, Canada, that was represented in the House of Commons of Canada. In 2015, it was dissolved into the ridings of Brampton East, Mississauga—Malton, Brampton Centre and Brampton North. The district was created as "Brampton—Malton" in 1987 from Brampton—Georgetown and Mississauga North. The name was changed to "Bramalea—Gore—Malton" in 1990, and to "Bramalea—Gore—Malton—Springdale" in 1998 In 2003, Bramalea—Gore—Malton—Springdale was abolished when it was redistributed between a new "Bramalea—Gore—Malton", Brampton—Springdale and Mississauga—Brampton South ridings. Stella Ambler
Stella Ambler (born September 29, 1966) is a Canadian politician who served as the Member of Parliament for the federal electoral district of Mississauga South from 2011 to 2015. She is a member of the Conservative Party. Background Ambler's parents are Italian immigrants who met and married in Canada, settling in Etobicoke then moving to Brampton. She obtained a degree in psychology from the University of Toronto. Ambler married her husband, Richard Ambler, in 1992. She worked as a political advisor to the Ontario government but left this position to stay at home and raise her children for nine years. Gurbax Singh Malhi
Gurbax Singh Malhi (born 12 October 1949) is an Indian-born Canadian politician. A Liberal, he was first elected as the Member of Parliament for Bramalea—Gore—Malton in 1993, and served as its representative in the House of Commons for 18 consecutive years until his defeat in the 2011 election. Malhi is notable for being the first turban-wearing Sikh to be elected to the House of Commons of Canada, or any national legislature in the western world. Baljit Singh Gosal (born May 4, 1960) is a Canadian politician who served as the Conservative Member of Parliament (MP) for the electoral district of Bramalea—Gore—Malton from 2011 until 2015. He served as Minister of State (Sport) in the cabinet of Prime Minister Stephen Harper. Gosal was one of five visible minorities serving in the Harper cabinet. Malton is a neighbourhood in the northeastern part of the city of Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, located to the northwest of Toronto. Malton is bounded by Highway 427 to the east, the Brampton city limits (a Canadian National Railway (CN) rail line) to the north, Airport Road to the west, and a second CN line and Toronto Pearson International Airport to the south. Malton is unique in that it does not adjoin any other Mississauga neighbourhood, being separated by the airport and extensive industrial areas.
