Brain Drain (character)
Brain Drain (Werner Schmidt) is a fictional character who first appeared in American comic books published by Marvel Comics in 1975 as a villain, but later becoming an ally of Squirrel Girl. Publication history Brain Drain first appears in ''The Invaders'' #2 (Oct. 1975) and was created by writer Roy Thomas and artist Frank Robbins. Fictional character biography Werner Schmidt is a Nazi scientist whose crew was killed in the crash of the ''Tekeli-Li'' spaceship. Its alien passengers rescue him and transplant his brain into a robotic body with mind-control abilities. Schmidt dubs himself "Brain Drain", takes control of the aliens - which he calls "Star Gods" - and renames them after German gods Donar, Log, Froh, and Brunnhilde. After being freed from Brain Drain's control, the aliens commit suicide by jumping into a vat of chemicals. The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl
''The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl'' is an American comic book series published by Marvel Comics featuring Squirrel Girl. The solo series debuted in January 2015 and ran for 8 issues, and was relaunched in October 2015 as part of Marvel's All-New, All-Different Marvel branding and was published through to November 2019 with 50 issues, for a total of 58. Both series were written by Ryan North. Art was by Erica Henderson from the start of the publication until issue #31, with Derek Charm taking over as artist for subsequent issues. Critics praised its comedy as well as the empowering portrayal of its heroine. Milana Vayntrub was cast as a version of Squirrel Girl based on her ''The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl'' depiction in the live-action unaired Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) pilot ''New Warriors'', before vocally reprising the role in the '' Marvel Rising'' media franchise (2018–2019) and the video game ''Marvel Rivals'' (2024). Peter Hermann (born August 15, 1967) is an American actor. He may be best known for his roles as Charles Brooks in '' Younger'', Trevor Langan in '' Law & Order: Special Victims Unit'', and Jack Boyle in ''Blue Bloods''. ''One World Under Doom'' is a 2025 comic book event, focused on the villain Doctor Doom who brings about a new world order after gaining the title of the Sorcerer Supreme.
