Brain Damage (dub Band)
Brain Damage is a French Dub band, from Saint-Etienne. The band was founded in 1999 by Martin Nathan and bass player Raphael Talis. It is considered one of the pioneering dub bands in France. History In the early 2000, Brain Damage experimented their first international collaborations in London with Dub specialists like The Disciples, Alpha and Omega, Zion Train or with the MC Tena Stelin. Their works based on Spoken word and Dub Poetry led them to include numerous voices in their tracks, like Black Sifichi and many others afterwards. From 2011 on, with the departure of Raphael for other projects, Brain Damage was to be composed solely of its frontman, Martin Nathan. Dub Music
Dub is a musical style that grew out of reggae in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Willi Williams
Willi Williams (also Willie Williams) (born 15 June 1953) is a Jamaican reggae and dub musician and producer. He is known as the "Armagideon Man" after his hit, " Armagideon Time", first recorded in 1977 at Studio One in Kingston. The song was covered by The Clash as the flipside of their "London Calling" single. Groundation
Groundation is an American roots reggae band with jazz and dub influences, from Sonoma County in Northern California. It is named for Rastafarian ceremony of Grounation. History Created in 1998 by Harrison Stafford, Groundation began on the campus of Sonoma State University's Jazz Program. Harrison formed the initial group by calling in bassist Ryan Newman, keyboardist Marcus Urani, and drummer Jason Bodlovitch, who were fellow students under the Jazz Performance department. Between 1999 and 2001, Harrison Stafford taught the first course on the history of reggae music at the university. In 1999, Stafford teamed up with Kris Dilbeck to found Young Tree Records and release Groundation's debut album ''Young Tree''. "Groundation" comes from the Rasta term "Grounation". Ras Michael
Michael George Henry OD (born 1943), better known as Ras Michael, is a Jamaican reggae singer and Nyabinghi specialist. He also performs under the name of Dadawah. Horace Andy (born Horace Keith Hinds, 19 February 1951) is a Jamaican roots reggae songwriter and singer, known for his distinctive vocals and hit songs such as " Skylarking", as well as "Government Land", "Angel", "Spying Glass", and "Five Man Army" with English trip hop group Massive Attack.
