The Scouts of China or the General Association of the Scouts of China (Taiwan) in full, is the National Scouting Organization (NSO) of the Republic of China (Taiwan) and represents the Scouting organization in Taiwan. It is a member of the World Organization of the Scout Movement since 1937. In 2021, the Scouts of China had 53,972 members. World Buddhist Scout Brotherhood
The World Buddhist Scout Council (WSBC) formerly the World Buddhist Scout Brotherhood until 2009 is an autonomous, international body committed to promoting and supporting Buddhism within Scouting. The WBSB began as a means to facilitate religious activities among Buddhist Scouts. The WBSC was declared active with the election of its chairman on July 21, 2004, and received consultative status with the World Scout Committee at the WSC meeting on March 9, 2009. The World Scout Committee's guidelines indicate that at least three years is required to fulfill the requirements before consultative status may be granted. In 2016 the gender equality of the organisation name was considered and updated to be more inclusive, becoming the World Buddhist Scout Council. Yang Huimin
Yang Huimin (; March 6, 1915 – March 9, 1992) was a Girl Guide during the 1937 Battle of Shanghai who supplied a flag and brought supplies to besieged defenders of the Sihang Warehouse. Her actions proved inspiring to the defenders, who flew the flag the next daybreak in front of thousands of watching eyes across the bank of the Suzhou Creek. Personal life Yang had studied physical education in Shanghai and was a member of the Girl Scouts when the war broke out. Her courageous action during the Defense of Sihang Warehouse made her famous. In 1938, she was sent overseas to raise support and spoke about China's struggle in a number of countries. After the Chinese Civil War, Yang followed the Chiang Kai-shek government to Taiwan. The Girl Scouts of Taiwan () is the national Guiding organization of Taiwan (Republic of China). Girl Scouting was introduced to China in 1919; the association became a member of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts in 1963. The group changed its name from National Girl Scouts Association of the Republic of China to the National Girl Scouts Association of Taiwan in 1999. In 2002, the association opened the Girl Scout Center in Taipei and in 2006, and the organization was renamed the Girl Scouts of Taiwan. As of 2003, the girls-only organization has 28,105 members. The Associação de Escoteiros de Macau (''Scout Association of Macau'', ) is the national Scouting association in Macau, China. Sea Scouts are a part of the Scout movement, with a particular emphasis on boating and other water-based activities on the sea, rivers or lakes (canoeing, rafting, scuba, sailboarding).
