Boxing At The 2023 European Games
Boxing competition at the 2023 European Games took place from 23 June to 2 July 2023 at the Nowy Targ Arena. There was 13 competitions. 44 quota places (22 for women and 22 for men) for the 2024 Olympic Games, Paris 2024 Olympic Games were available at the 2023 European Games. The number of available quota places per event is specified in the IOC Boxing Qualification System for Paris 2024. Medal table Medalists In events with two Olympic quota places available, the gold and silver medalists will qualify for Paris 2024, and semi-finals will represent Olympic qualification deciders. In events where four quota places are available, all medalists will qualify for Paris 2024, and quarter-finals will therefore represent Olympic qualification deciders. Boxing At The 2019 European Games
At the 2019 European Games in Minsk, matches across fifteen weight categories in Amateur boxing, boxing were contested between 21 and 30 June 2019, of which ten were allocated to men and five were allocated to women. In contrast to 2015, this tournament doubled up as the 2019 European Amateur Boxing Championships for men. For women, it remained a separate tournament. Qualification There was a nominal allocation of 316 athlete quota places (256 men, 60 women) for boxing at the 2019 European Games. For the men's tournament, each National Olympic Committee (NOC) could simply enter one athlete per category. Delicious Orie
Delicious Orie (born 31 May 1997) is a British former professional boxer who as an amateur won gold medals at the 2022 Commonwealth Games and the 2023 European Games. Early life Orie was born in Moscow to a Nigerian father and a Russian mother. Facing racial prejudice due to the colour of his skin, he moved to England at age seven and settled in Wolverhampton a few years later and attended Colton Hills Community School in his teenage years. Orie later graduated with a degree in Economics and Management from Aston University in 2020. His father revealed in BBC interviewthat Orie's name was inspired by vocalist Delious Kennedy from the American R&B and pop group All-4-One. Jack Marley (born 16 November 2002) is an Irish amateur boxer who won a gold medal at heavyweight at the 2022 European Under-22 Championships and silver at the 2023 European Games.
