Boulevard De Rochechouart
The Boulevard Marguerite-de-Rochechouart () is a street in Paris, France, situated at the foot of Montmartre and to its south. Like the neighbouring street, it is named after Marguerite de Rochechouart de Montpipeau (1665–1727), abbess of Montmartre. It is a result of the 1864 merging of the boulevards and chemins de ronde which followed the interior and exterior of the Wall of the Farmers-General. It has also been known as the ''Boulevard des Poissonniers'', ''Chemin de ronde de Poissonnière'' and ''Chemin de ronde de Rochechouart''. It is served by the Paris Metro stations Pigalle, Anvers and Barbès – Rochechouart. Charles Maurice Donnay (12 October 1859 – 31 March 1945) was a French people, French dramatist. Biography Donnay was born of middle-class parents in Paris in 1859. His father was a railway engineer and initially Donnay followed a similar profession, studying at the École Centrale Paris, École centrale des arts et manufactures in 1882. With Alphonse Allais, Donnay started by writing material for the celebrated cabaret ''le Chat noir''. Jean Richepin (; 4 February 1849 – 12 December 1926) was a French poet, novelist and dramatist. Adolphe Léon Willette (30 July 1857 – 4 February 1926) was a French Painting, painter, illustrator, caricaturist, and lithographer, as well as an architect of the famous Moulin Rouge cabaret. Willette ran as an "antisemitism, anti-semitic" candidate in the 9th arrondissement of Paris for the September 1889 legislative elections. La Cigale (; English: ''The Cicada'') is a theatre located at 120, boulevard de Rochechouart near Place Pigalle, in the 18th arrondissement of Paris. The theatre is part of a complex connected to the Boule Noire. The hall can accommodate 1,389 people standing or 954 seated. Louis Rodolphe Salis (29 May 1851 – 20 March 1897) was the creator, host and owner of the ('The Black Cat') cabaret (known briefly in 1881 at its beginning as ) in the Montmartre district of Paris. It was opened on 18 November 1881 at 84 Boulevard de Rochechouart by impresario Rodolphe Salis, and closed in 1897 not long after Salis' death. is thought to be the first modern cabaret: a nightclub where the patrons sat at tables and drank alcoholic beverages while being entertained by a variety show on stage. Le Trianon () is a theatre and concert hall in Paris. It is located at 80, boulevard de Rochechouart, in the 18th arrondissement of Paris, at the foot of the hill of Montmartre. Café concert (1894–1900) The ''Trianon-Concert'' was built as a ''café concert'' in 1894 in the garden of the ''Élysée Montmartre'', which was requisitioned for the purpose.
