Borbon, Cebu
Borbon, officially the Municipality of Borbon (; ), is a municipality in the province of Cebu, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 38,187 people. History According to the Panublion publication, Borbon was established as a parish on 15 September 1862 and had San Sebastian as its patron saint. Today St. Sebastian's fiesta is celebrated every 20 January. Borbon was formerly a ''visita'' or an extension community of the town of Sogod. That is why many of the first settlers of Borbon were families whose roots can be traced back to relatives in Sogod. Pebble Island
Pebble Island is one of the Falkland Islands, situated north of West Falkland. It is possibly named after the peculiarly spherical pebbles found at its western tip. Description The island, the fifth largest in the Falklands archipelago, stretches for and about at its widest point, with a total area of . Its three high points are First Mountain , Middle Mountain and Marble Mountain , all of which lie in the western part of the island. Fortunato Borbon (1890-1954) was a former soldier and politician in the Philippines. He was Captain in Philippine Constabulary and became a provincial commander of Palawan in 1931 to 1934 prior Philippines was transition to a Commonwealth. Pedro Borbón Rodriguez (December 2, 1946 – June 4, 2012) was a Dominican professional baseball pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) most notably as a member of the Cincinnati Reds dynasty that won four National League pennants and two World Series championships between 1970 and 1976. Borbón was known for his durability, appearing in more games than any other pitcher in the National League between 1970 and 1978. He also played for the California Angels, San Francisco Giants, and St. Louis Cardinals. In 2010, Borbón was inducted into the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame.
