Alfred Boquet
Alfred Boquet (26 December 1879 – 3 June 1947) was a French veterinarian and biologist born in Cires-lès-Mello. Background In 1901, he graduated from veterinary school in Toulouse, spending the following years (1902-1910) as a government veterinary health employee in Algeria. In 1911, he began work as a veterinarian at the Pasteur Institute in Algiers, afterwards being promoted to ''chef de laboratoire'' (1913). From 1919 to 1931, he was laboratory chief ( tuberculosis services) at the Pasteur Institute in Paris, where he later served as head of tuberculosis services from 1931 to 1947. At the Pasteur Institute in Algiers he participated in development of the "anticlaveleux-vaccine", a vaccine used for rapid vaccination of millions of sheep in North Africa and Europe. In Algiers with Léopold Nègre (1879-1961), he conducted research on epizootic lymphangitis, a disease affecting horses and mules caused by '' Cryptococcus farciminosus''. Anne Boquet
Anne Boquet (born 19 March 1952 in Bellac, France) is a retired French senior civil servant. She is the first and only woman to have been High Commissioner in French Polynesia to date. Boquet had previously served as Secretary-General in the French High commission in Pape'ete from 1993 to 1996 and as Prefect in several French departments. Her administration as High Commissioner saw unprecedented political instability with the turnover of five successive governments and three separate presidents come and go due to votes of no confidence and party switching by top politicians in French Polynesia. Boquet's term as High Commissioner in French Polynesia ended with her appointment as Prefect for the metropolitan department of the Yvelines in the Paris region on 28 June 2008. She was awarded the rank of Commandeur of the Order of Tahiti Nui, which is French Polynesia's highest honor, in June 2008 for her service to the collectivity. Jeanne-Angélique Boquet, sometimes Bocquet, was a French pastel A pastel () is an art medium in a variety of forms including a stick, a square a pebble or a pan of color; though other forms are possible; they consist of powdered pigment and a binder. Boquet, Pennsylvania
Boquet is an unincorporated community in Penn Township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, United States Name origin Though his name was spelled somewhat differently, it is commonly accepted that Boquet was named after General Henry Bouquet, a British army officer of the 18th century. The community lies along the original route of the Forbes Road, the road created by a British/colonial force under British General John Forbes to displace the French from Fort Duquesne in 1758. It was the second road into western Pennsylvania, the first having been Braddock's Road in 1755. Within a few years of its creation, the segment of Forbes' Road that Boquet would come to be located upon was removed several miles to the south. The newer, more southerly variant diverged from the original near present SR 66, east of Boquet, and rejoined the original road several miles west of Boquet.
