Bold As Love (song)
"Bold as Love" is the title track of '' Axis: Bold as Love'', the second album by the Jimi Hendrix Experience. The song, which closes the album, was written by Jimi Hendrix and produced by band manager Chas Chandler. Recording and production The Jimi Hendrix Experience began work on "Bold as Love" in October 1967 at London's Olympic Sound Studios, recording a number of instrumental backing tracks in an initial session dedicated to the song on October 4. Hendrix, Noel Redding and Mitch Mitchell also spent the following day's session focused on the track, recording over 20 different takes and four different endings throughout the day before eventually settling on a combination of takes 21 and 27 for the master recording. After diverting attention to other songs set for the album, the band returned to finish work on "Bold as Love" on October 29, completing " Up from the Skies", " Castles Made of Sand", " One Rainy Wish" and "EXP" in the same session. James Marshall "Jimi" Hendrix (born Johnny Allen Hendrix; November 27, 1942September 18, 1970) was an American singer-songwriter and musician. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest and most influential guitarists of all time. Fuzz Face
The Fuzz Face is an effects pedal for electric guitar, used also by some electric bass players. It is designed to produce a distorted sound referred to as "fuzz", originally achieved through accident such as broken electrical components or damaged speakers. History Arbiter Electronics Ltd. first issued the Fuzz Face in 1966. Later units bear the "Dallas Arbiter", "Dallas Music Industries Ltd.", "CBS/Arbiter Ltd." or "Dunlop Manufacturing Inc." name. Little Wing
"Little Wing" is a song written by Jimi Hendrix and recorded by the Jimi Hendrix Experience in 1967. It is a slow tempo rhythm and blues-inspired ballad featuring Hendrix's vocal and guitar with recording studio effects accompanied by bass, drums, and glockenspiel. Lyrically, it is one of several of his songs that reference an idealized feminine or guardian angel-like figure. Michael John "Cub" Koda (né Uszniewicz; October 1, 1948 – July 1, 2000) was an Americans, American rock and roll musician, songwriter, and critic. Flanging
Flanging is an audio signal processing, audio effect produced by mixing two identical audio signal, signals together, one signal delayed by a small and (usually) gradually changing period, usually smaller than 20 milliseconds. This produces a swept comb filter effect: peaks and notches are produced in the resulting frequency spectrum, related to each other in a linear harmonic series (music), harmonic series. Varying the time delay causes these to sweep up and down the frequency spectrum. A flanger is an effects unit that creates this effect. Part of the output signal is usually fed back to the input (a re-circulating Delay (audio effect), delay line), producing a resonance effect that further enhances the intensity of the peaks and troughs.
