Bogusław Sobczak
Bogusław Sobczak (born 25 June 1979 in Kraków) is a Polish politician. He was elected to the Sejm on 25 September 2005, getting 6480 votes in 15 Tarnów district as a candidate from the League of Polish Families list. In 2004, he graduated from the University of Economics in Krakow with a degree in Economy and Public Administration. From 2003 to 2005 he worked in the Krakow City Hall. In 1998 he joined the All-Polish Youth. From 2001 to 2002 he was the secretary, and until 2005 the vice-president of the general council of this organization. In the years 2004–2005, he was the president of the Małopolska district. In the parliamentary elections in 2001, he unsuccessfully ran for the Sejm as a non-partisan, from the list of the League of Polish Families in the Warsaw constituency. Then he joined this group. League Of Polish Families
The League of Polish Families ( Polish: ''Liga Polskich Rodzin'', LPR) is a conservative political party in Poland, with many far-right elements in the past. The party's original ideology was that of the National Democracy movement which was headed by Roman Dmowski, however in 2006 its leader Roman Giertych distanced himself from that heritage. It was represented in the Polish parliament, forming part of the cabinet of Jarosław Kaczyński until the latter dissolved in September 2007. In the 2007 parliamentary election, it failed to gain the 5% threshold required to enter the Sejm and lost all its seats, even failing to cross the 3% threshold for eligibility to receive government funding. Since then, the party has become a minor political force, but continues to exist. Kraków
Kraków (), or Cracow, is the second-largest and one of the oldest cities in Poland. Situated on the Vistula River in Lesser Poland Voivodeship, the city dates back to the seventh century. The Sejm (English: , Polish: ), officially known as the Sejm of the Republic of Poland ( Polish: ''Sejm Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej''), is the lower house of the bicameral parliament of Poland. The Sejm has been the highest governing body of the Third Polish Republic since the transition of government in 1989. Tarnów
Tarnów () is a city in southeastern Poland with 105,922 inhabitants and a metropolitan area population of 269,000 inhabitants. The city is situated in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship since 1999. From 1975 to 1998, it was the capital of the Tarnów Voivodeship. It is a major rail junction, located on the strategic east–west connection from Lviv to Kraków, and two additional lines, one of which links the city with the Slovak border.
