Bob James (musician)
Robert McElhiney James (born December 25, 1939) is an American jazz keyboardist, arranger, and record producer. He founded the band Fourplay and wrote "Angela", the theme song for the TV show ''Taxi (TV series), Taxi.'' According to ''VICE (magazine), VICE'', music from his first seven albums has often been sampling (music), sampled and believed to have contributed to the formation of hip hop. Among his most well known recordings are "Nautilus (song), Nautilus", "Westchester Lady", "Tappan Zee", and his version of "Take Me to the Mardi Gras". Early life and family James was born on Christmas Day of 1939 in Marshall, Missouri, United States. He started playing the piano at age four. Bob James (baseball)
Robert Harvey James (born August 15, 1958), is a former professional baseball player who pitched in the major leagues primarily as a relief pitcher from 1978-1987. Career James was the first round draft pick in 1976 by the Montreal Expos out of Verdugo Hills High School, where he had been converted from a catcher to a pitcher, and joined the major league team in 1978 when he was just twenty years old. In 1982 he was traded to the Detroit Tigers for a player to be named later, and was himself returned to the Expos as that player in 1983. On December 7, 1984, James was traded to the Chicago White Sox for Vance Law. The following season, he saved 32 games for the White Sox, second in the American League behind Dan Quisenberry Daniel Raymond Quisenberry (; February 7, 1953 – September 30, 1998), nicknamed "Quiz", was an American right-handed relief pitcher in Major League Baseball who played primarily for the Kansas City Royals. Robert Dennis James (1952 – February 2021) was an American singer best known for his work with the hard rock band Montrose. Biography Born in Struthers, Ohio, James moved to the South Bay area of Los Angeles in 1963. His early bands The Symbols of Time, Shatterminx, and Swan included David Pack (Ambrosia), Joe Puerta (Ambrosia), Robert Fleischman ( Journey), and Marc Droubay (Survivor). In early 1975 he was chosen by Ronnie Montrose as the replacement for vocalist Sammy Hagar in the band Montrose and is featured as lead vocalist and co-songwriter on the Montrose albums '' Warner Brothers Presents... Montrose!'' (1975) and '' Jump On It'' (1976). After leaving Montrose in early 1977 he reunited with his pre-Montrose original band Swan who recorded demos at Capitol Records with Montrose engineer Charles Faris and performed live in the Los Angeles area. Skin Alley
Skin Alley were a British progressive rock band founded by Thomas Crimble (musician), Thomas Crimble and Giles 'Alvin' Pope in the autumn of 1968. The original lineup consisted of Crimble on bass guitar and vocals, Pope on drums, Max Taylor on guitar, and Jeremy Sagar on lead vocals. Taylor and Sagar left early in 1969, and were replaced by Krzysztof Henryk Juszkiewicz on Hammond organ, a musician of Polish descent, and Bob James on saxophone, flute, guitar and vocals. He was the head football coach for Limestone College—now known as Limestone University—from 2013 to 2015 and East Henderson High School from 2021 to 2022. Robert Mark James (23 March 1957 – 18 February 1998) was a Welsh international footballer who played for many teams including Swansea City, Stoke City and Queens Park Rangers. He represented his country on 47 occasions over a period of ten years, scoring a total of seven goals. He was a talented utility player who contributed greatly to Swansea City's rise from the Fourth Division to the First Division between 1978 and 1981, and helped them finish sixth in their first top division campaign. He played a total of 783 English league games between 1973 and 1994, scoring 134 goals. His league appearance tally is one of the highest of any player in the history of English football. Career James was born in Gorseinon and began his career with local side Swansea City.
