Blue Orange Games is a board game company based in San Francisco, California. They have been publishing and promoting award-winning games for over 18 years. The company was founded in 1999 by Thierry Denoual and Juilen Mayot. The company is known to use recyclable materials in its games. It has won numerous awards. History The first Blue Orange Games to be designed was, '' Gobblet.'' The creators were hit with a flash of inspiration for the game while in a coffee shop in California. This game was an instant success all over the US and helped build up the company. A San Francisco Chronicle review prompted the game to sell out locally. Co-founder Mayot took a three month road trip across the country, covering 22,000 miles and visiting 500 stores with a jeep packed with 1,000 ''Gobblet'' games. Kingdomino
''Kingdomino'' is a 2016 tile board game for 2-4 players designed by Bruno Cathala and published by Blue Orange Games. In this 15-20 minute, family-oriented game, players build a five by five kingdom of oversized domino-like tiles, making sure as they place each tile that one of its sides connects to a matching terrain type already in play. The game was critically successful and won the 2017 Spiel des Jahres award, and was followed by several spin-offs and expansions. Gameplay In the game players take turns choosing domino-like tiles and adding them to their kingdoms. Like traditional Dominoes, each tile has one or two different ends, which in this case also show different landscapes, and possibly a number of crowns on it. ''Photosynthesis'' is a strategy board game designed by Hjalmar Hach and published by Blue Orange in 2017. Gameplay There are four differently-coloured player boards (blue, green, orange, and yellow) with similarly-coloured trees of three different sizes (small, medium, and large) and seed tokens. Each player takes a board of one colour, the tokens and trees of that colour, a light token used to track that player's light collection on their board, and a round marker. The player board has spaces for 4 seedlings, 4 small trees, 3 medium trees, and 2 large trees. Bendomino
''Bendomino'' is a tabletop strategy game similar to dominoes, created by Thierry Denoual and published by Blue Orange Games in 2007. It is a set of double-6 dominoes with a 120-degree curve. The main difference from dominoes is the curved shape of the pieces, which introduces a new level of strategy to the game. There is also a version of the game for younger players with pictures instead of numbers and symbols on the bendomino tiles. Gameplay Bendomino is played in rounds. At the beginning of each round, the 28 Bendominoes are placed face down and mixed. Players draw their hand, the remaining pieces represent the stock.
