The Blue Lantern Corps is a fictional organization appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics, beginning in 2008 in ''Green Lantern'' vol. 4 #25 (January 2008) by Geoff Johns. Their powers, similar to those of other organizations based around the emotional spectrum, are fueled by the emotion of hope. Fictional group history The Blue Lantern Corps is one of the nine corps empowered by a specific color of the emotional spectrum within the DC Universe, deriving power from the blue light of hope. Doug Mahnke
Douglas Mahnke () is an American comic book artist, known for his work and penciller, penciling books including ''The Mask (comics), The Mask'', ''JLA (comic book), JLA'', ''Batman (comic book), Batman'', ''Final Crisis'', and ''Green Lantern (comic book), Green Lantern''. Career Mahnke's first prominent work was for ''The Mask (comics), The Mask'', and he has since worked for DC Comics on ''Justice League, JLA'', ''Batman (comic book), Batman'' with writer Judd Winick, and ''Frankenstein (DC Comics), Seven Soldiers: Frankenstein'' with Grant Morrison. The Red Lantern Corps is a supervillain and sometimes anti-heroes, anti-heroic organization appearing in DC Comics. Their power is derived from the emotional spectrum relating to anger. Publication history The Red Lantern Corps debuted in ''Green Lantern'' (vol. 4) #25 (January 2008) and were created by Geoff Johns and Ethan Van Sciver. New Guardians
The New Guardians are a DC Comics superhero team featured in the short-lived eponymous series ''The New Guardians''. It was a spin-off from the ''Millennium'' event and ran for twelve issues, from 1988 through 1989, before being canceled. The characters first appeared in ''Millennium'' #1, (January 1988), written by Steve Engelhart and drawn by Joe Staton.
