"Blood Sugar" is a song by Australian drum and bass band Pendulum (drum and bass band), Pendulum, released as a single on 18 June 2007 in the United Kingdom. It was the band's final single with the Breakbeat Kaos label, and was released on 12-inch vinyl. Both tracks were later added to the 2007 reissue of the group's debut album, ''Hold Your Colour'', due to their popularity. "Axle Grinder" contains samples from the United States TV show, ''The Twilight Zone'' and when run through a spectrogram; the song contains an image of Porky Pig giving the middle finger at the very end. Chart performance "Blood Sugar" / "Axle Grinder" entered the UK Singles Chart on week 25, 2007. It peaked at number 62 before dropping out a week later. Pendulum (drum And Bass Band)
Pendulum is an Australian electronic rock band founded in 2002. Pendulum originally formed in the city of Perth, Western Australia, by Rob Swire, Gareth McGrillen and Paul "El Hornet" Harding. The band was later expanded to include members Ben Mount, Peredur ap Gwynedd and KJ Sawka. The group is notable for its distinctive sound, mixing electronic music with hard rock and covering a wide range of genres. Their debut studio album, ''Hold Your Colour'', was released in 2005 to positive critical reception. While ''Hold Your Colour'' was mostly of the drum and bass genre, the succeeding albums ''In Silico (Pendulum album), In Silico'' and ''Immersion (album), Immersion'' saw experimentation of other genres such as industrial rock and electronic rock. Drum and bass (commonly abbreviated as DnB, D&B, or D'n'B) is a genre of electronic dance music characterised by fast Break (music)#Breakbeat (element of music), breakbeats (typically 165–185 Tempo, beats per minute) with heavy Bass (music), bass and sub-bass lines, Sampling (music), samples, and synthesizers. Breakbeat Kaos is a British independent record label based in London, UK that specialises in drum and bass. It is jointly owned by Fresh and Adam F, who founded the label in 2003 by merging Fresh's Breakbeat Punk with Adam F's Kaos Recordings. The label's first release was a 12" double A-side single by Fresh titled "Dalicks / Temple of Doom". Robert Swire-Thompson (born 5 November 1982) is an Australian record producer, singer, songwriter, and DJ. He is the founder and lead vocalist of the drum and bass/electronic rock band Pendulum (drum and bass band), Pendulum, as well as Disc jockey, DJ and co-founder of electro house duo Knife Party formed of Swire and Gareth McGrillen. Originally from Perth, Western Australia, Swire relocated to the United Kingdom in 2003 with fellow Pendulum co-founders Gareth McGrillen and Paul "El Hornet" Harding. Swire has since fulfilled a broad spectrum of roles as a member of Pendulum, ranging from songwriting to singing while performing live with an unusual guitar-like MIDI controller – Starr Labs' Ztar, Ztar Z6S-XPA. "Granite" is a song by Australian drum and bass band Pendulum, released as the first single from their second studio album ''In Silico''. It was released through Warner Music UK, and through the band's new Earstorm imprint with Warner Music Group. The song entered the UK Singles Chart on 11 November 2007, peaking at number 29 on 2 December. The single is supposedly inspired by the likes of video game boss battles, including the theme of various battles against the Mario series' Bowser; specifically, the intro is directly inspired by the beginning of the music from the castle stages in ''Super Mario World''. '' Q'' magazine named it 24th in the 50 top records of December 2007. When played in reverse, the main melody changes into the melody used in the end of the song, and vice versa. Knife Party are an Australian electronic music duo consisting of Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen, two members of the drum and bass band Pendulum. The duo has worked with artists such as Swedish House Mafia, Steve Aoki, MistaJam, Foreign Beggars, I See MONSTAS, Tom Staar, Pegboard Nerds and Tom Morello. Knife Party peaked at 23rd on DJMag's 2013 Top 100 DJs rankings. History 2002–2010: Origin Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen met in 2002 and have since performed music in various different bands and music projects.
