Blom (family From Skien)
Blom is a Norwegian family descended from Jan Fredriksen (died 1624), a citizen of Skien. His son, parish priest Fredrik Blom (died 1657), Lårdal, adopted the family name Blom. According to playwright Henrik Ibsen, the family was one of the patrician families in Skien. The family is related through marriage to families such as Cappelen, Løvenskiold, Paus and Aall. Skien () is a municipality in Telemark county, Norway. It is located in the traditional district of Grenland, although historically it belonged to Grenmar/Skiensfjorden, while Grenland referred the Norsjø area and Bø. The administrative centre of the municipality is the city of Skien, which is also the administrative centre of the whole county. Christopher Blom Paus
Christopher Blom Paus (8 October 1810 – 28 October 1898) was a Norwegian shipowner, merchant and banker. Biography Paus was born at the estate Rising Nordre in Gjerpen, Norway. Born into the patriciate of the port town of Skien, he was the son of shipowner Ole Paus and Johanne Plesner (formerly married Ibsen). He was the uncle of playwright Henrik Ibsen, as he was both the half brother of Ibsen's father Knud Ibsen and the first cousin of Ibsen's mother Marichen Altenburg. He was the brother of judge, Bratsberg governor and Member of Parliament Christian Cornelius Paus and lawyer Henrik Johan Paus. Christopher Blom Paus owned the house at Snipetorp where the Ibsen family lived from the time of Henrik Ibsen's confirmation in 1843 to 1865. Brevik, Norway
Brevik () is a List of towns and cities in Norway, town in Porsgrunn Municipality in Telemark county, Norway. The town is located where the Eidangerfjorden and Frierfjorden join together to form the Breviksfjorden. Brevik is regarded as one of the best preserved towns from the sailing ship era. The Norwegian Constituent Assembly ( or ) is the name given to the 1814 constitutional assembly that adopted the Norwegian Constitution and formalised the dissolution of the union with Denmark. The meetings took place at the Eidsvoll Manor in the village of Eidsvoll Verk in the Eidsvoll parish in Akershus county, Norway from 10 April to 20 May 1814. Diderik von Cappelen (21 June 1761 – 3 April 1828) was a Norwegian wholesaler, merchant, shipowner, estate owner and politician in 1814. He is often referred to as Diderik von Cappelen but he spelt his name ''Didrich von Cappelen'' and is also referred to as Didrik von Cappelen. Personal life and family Cappelen was born at Mæla Manor in Gjerpen (''Mæla gård i Gjerpen'') in the municipality of Skien, in Telemark, Norway. Niels Aall
Niels Aall (1 December 1769 – 23 October 1854) was a Norwegian estate owner, businessman and politician. Family Niels Aall was the son of lumber merchant Nicolai Benjamin Aall (1739–98) from Porsgrunn and his wife Amjørg Jørgensdatter Wesseltoft (1741-1815). He was the brother of Jacob and Jørgen Aall. Aall was married twice, first from 1794 to Mariane Møller until she died in 1796, then from 1804 to Christine Johanne Blom until he died in 1854. Biography After education in France and England, Aall settled as a merchant in Porsgunn. From 1810 he was the county clerk in Skien and Porsgrunn, before being appointed to Christian Frederik's government, where he was minister of trade and customs.
