Marc Nelson
Marc K. Nelson (born January 23, 1971) is an American singer and songwriter. He was an original member of Boyz II Men while still attending Philadelphia's High School of Performing Arts. However, Nelson left the group to pursue a solo career before they released their first album. Early life and career Nelson's mother was the late American singer Phyllis Nelson, best known for the songs "I Like You" and "Move Closer". Nelson attended the Philadelphia High School for Creative and Performing Arts, in Pennsylvania. There, he and his friend Nathan Morris (joined later by Wanya Morris, Shawn Stockman and Michael McCary), formed the singing group Unique Attraction. Gary "Lil G" Jenkins is an American musician. He is the lead singer of the R&B group Silk. Born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee, he is the youngest of seven children. Musical career Gary began singing in church at the age of seven, which earned him a role as a featured soloist on BET's ''The Bobby Jones Gospel Show'' for many years. By the age of nine, Gary had mastered the guitar after only a few lessons and had self-taught an assortment of keyboards, drums and guitars. While attending Tennessee State University (TSU) in Nashville, Gary majored in music, with an emphasis in piano and voice. As a member of the prestigious TSU Jazz Collegians, he was selected to accompany Dizzy Gillespie on piano during Gillespie's visit to the school. Az Yet is an American R&B group from Philadelphia, best known for their songs " Last Night" and the cover " Hard to Say I'm Sorry" originally performed by Chicago. Formation Formed in 1989 initially as a duo with Shawn Rivera and Dion Allen, the two were later joined by Kenny Terry, whom they met singing in the lobby of the Wyndham Hotel in Philadelphia, Ali Hyman, Claude Thomas, Damon Core, & Dyshon Benson. Debut album Az Yet released their self-titled debut album in 1996 on LaFace Records. A supergroup is a musical group whose members are successful as solo artists or as members of other successful groups.
