Aninri (Anglican)
Aninri is a Local Government Area of Enugu State, Nigeria. Its headquarters are in the town of Ndeabo. The local government is about 233,723 inhabitants according to the projected population from 2006 census. Aninri is made up of five towns; Odume, Nenwe, Ndeabo, Mpu, and Okpanku. Odume is the largest of the five, with a population of approximately 98,000 inhabitants according to the 2006 census. The local government area has produced notable people both in Enugu State and Nigeria at large, including former Speaker Enugu State House of Assembly Abel Chukwu, former Enugu state chairman of the People's Democratic Party Late Igwe Onyioha Nwanjoku (Ndumeze 1 of Ndumeze), deputy president of the Nigerian Senate Ike Ekweremmadu who has been DSP from 2007 to 2015 and 2015-to date. Enugu State
Enugu () verbally pronounced as "Enụgwụ" by the Igbo indigenes is a state in the South-East geopolitical zone of Nigeria, bordered to the north by the states of Benue and Kogi, Ebonyi State to the east and southeast, Abia State to the south, and Anambra State to the west. The state takes its name from its capital and largest city, Enugu. The city acquired township status in 1917 and was called Enugwu-Ngwo. Ike Ekweremadu
Ike Ekweremadu (born 12 May 1962) is a Nigerian politician and a lawyer who hails from Enugu State and served in the Senate of Nigeria for Enugu West from 3 June 2003 to 5 May 2023 . He is a member of the People's Democratic Party, and was the Deputy President of the Nigerian Senate for three (3) consecutive (6th, 7th and 8th) senate. On 23 June 2022, Ekweremadu and his wife were charged in the UK with conspiring to arrange the travel of a 21 year old into the UK in order to harvest organs. He was found guilty on 23 March 2023 at the Old Bailey. On 5 May 2023, he was sentenced to nine years and eight months imprisonment.
