Bir King
The Bir King was a famous king of Birbhum before Muslim rule. Asaduzzaman Khan was an army chief who killed the Bir King and conquered Rajnagar where he established a Muslim sultanate. According to local history, in 1350 AD there were some quarrels between Laxmanawati and Subarnagram, and the ancestors of Bir King had set up a capital at Lakknur ( Rajnagar). the Bir Kings were two brothers, Bir Singh and Mallar Singh. Mallarpur has named after Mallar Singh. Birbhum District
Birbhum district () is an administrative unit in the Indian state of West Bengal. It is the northernmost district of Burdwan division—one of the five administrative divisions of West Bengal. The district headquarters is in Suri. Other important cities are Bolpur, Rampurhat and Sainthia. Jamtara, Dumka and Pakur districts of the state of Jharkhand lie at the western border of this district; the border in other directions is covered by the districts of Bardhaman and Murshidabad of West Bengal. Rajnagar, Birbhum
Rajnagar is a census town in Rajnagar CD block in Suri Sadar subdivision of Birbhum district in the Indian state of West Bengal. It was formerly the capital of Royal Kingdoms in the area. With the fading away of the kingdoms, the town lost much of its importance. History Rajnagar was founded by Bir Singh, a great Hindu Raja in ancient times on whose name the district Birbhum was formed. In 1206, Rajnagar was occupied by Muhammad Shiran, a General of Muhammad Bakhtiyar, and annexed by Ali Mardan, on 1211. However, Pathans do not seem to have enjoyed undisputed control over the entire district or area. At least the western part of the district, with Rajnagar as its capital, seems to have been ruled by the descendants of Bir Singh, the Bir Rajas. Mallarpur
Mallarpur is a census town in Mayureswar I CD Block in Rampurhat subdivision of Birbhum district in the Indian state of West Bengal. Etymology The name Mallarpur had come from Malla kings. Probably, it has some connection with the great Malla king Veer Hambir. Geography Location Four separate villages called Amba, Fatehpur, Bahina and Mallarpur merged to form a small town Mallarpur. A glimpse of the past As one drives to Mallarpur, off the now busy highway, one will see a grand old ruin dominating the landscape for miles around. This is the Kacheri Baari or the Court House. Built in the late 18th century, this building must have been stunning in its heydays. As one enters through a once grand, but now rusted, metal gate, one comes into the front lawn, about 50 yards long. At the end of it, like a giant spider, sits the Kacheri Baari, a haunted house. Muhammad Bin Bakhtiyar Khalji
Ikhtiyār al-Dīn Muḥammad Bakhtiyār Khaljī, (Pashto :اختيار الدين محمد بختيار غلزۍ, fa, اختیارالدین محمد بختیار خلجی, bn, ইখতিয়ারউদ্দীন মুহম্মদ বখতিয়ার খলজী) also known as Bakhtiyar Khalji, was a Turko- Afghan military general of the Ghurid ruler Muhammad of Ghor, who led the Muslim conquests of the eastern Indian regions of Bengal and Bihar and established himself as their ruler. He was the founder of the Khalji dynasty of Bengal, which ruled Bengal for a short period, from 1203 to 1227 CE. Muhammad Shiran Khalji
Muḥammad Shīrān Khaljī ( fa, محمد شيران خلجی), or simply Shiran Khalji ( bn, শিরাণ খলজী, Shiraṇ Kholjī), was the second governor of the Khalji dynasty of Bengal, based in Lakhnauti, Bengal, from 1206 until 1208.
