Biochemistry And Cell Biology
''Biochemistry and Cell Biology'' is a bi-monthly, peer-reviewed scientific journal of biochemistry and cell biology established in 1964 by NRC Research Press. It is the continuation of '' Canadian Journal of Biochemistry and Physiology'' which split into ''Canadian Journal of Biochemistry'' and '' Canadian Journal of Physiology and Pharmacology'' in 1964. In 1983, ''Canadian Journal of Biochemistry'' was renamed ''Canadian Journal of Biochemistry and Cell Biology'' and acquired its current name ''Biochemistry and Cell Biology'' in 1986. The journal is edited by James R. Davie (University of Manitoba) and Christopher J. Nelson (University of Victoria). The journal is affiliated with the Canadian Society for Molecular Biosciences and the Panamerican Association for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Biochemistry
Biochemistry or biological chemistry is the study of chemical processes within and relating to living organisms. A sub-discipline of both chemistry and biology, biochemistry may be divided into three fields: structural biology, enzymology and metabolism. Over the last decades of the 20th century, biochemistry has become successful at explaining living processes through these three disciplines. The Science Citation Index Expanded – previously entitled Science Citation Index – is a citation index originally produced by the Institute for Scientific Information (ISI) and created by Eugene Garfield. It was officially launched in 1964 and is now owned by Clarivate (previously the Intellectual Property and Science business of Thomson Reuters). ''Current Contents'' is a rapid alerting service database from Clarivate Analytics, formerly the Institute for Scientific Information and Thomson Reuters. It is published online and in several different printed subject sections. History ''Current Contents'' was first published in paper format, in a single edition devoted only to biology and medicine. Other subject editions were added later. Initially, it consisted simply of a reproduction of the title pages from several hundred major peer-reviewed scientific journals, and was published weekly, with the issues containing title pages from journal issues only a few weeks previously, a shorter time lag than any service then available. Ei Compendex is an engineering bibliographic database published by Elsevier. The name "Compendex" stands for COMPuterized ENgineering inDEX.
