Alexander Binnie (27 March 1901 – 1 May 1988) was a Scottish people, Scottish Association football, football Goalkeeper (association football), goalkeeper who played for Kilsyth Rangers F.C., Kilsyth Rangers, Partick Thistle F.C., Partick Thistle, Port Vale F.C., Port Vale, and Hamilton Academical F.C., Hamilton Academical in the 1920s. Early life Alexander Binnie was born in Kilsyth on 27 March 1901 to James Binnie (a coal miner) and Mary Binnie (née Grindlay). William Binnie (architect)
William Bryce Binnie FRIBA (1 July 1886 – 1963) was a Scottish architect. He trained in Scotland but practiced initially in New York and then London. During the First World War he served with the Black Watch and was decorated for bravery. Afterwards he worked for the Imperial War Graves Commission until 1927, when he returned to private practice in London. Biography Binne was born at Kingscavil, by Linlithgow. From 1904 he was articled to architect Robert Bryden in Glasgow, moving to John James Burnet's office after Bryden's death in 1906. Between 1908 and 1910 Binnie studied at the Glasgow School of Art, where he was awarded a gold medal and a travel scholarship, which he used to spend a year Italy. In 1910 he moved to New York City to work at Warren & Wetmore, where amongst other buildings, he worked on some of the detailings of the interior of Grand Central Station. Binnie Kirshenbaum is an American novelist and short story writer. She is a professor of the Writing Program at Columbia University School of the Arts. Biography Born in 1964, Kirshenbaum received a BA from Columbia University and an MFA from Brooklyn College. She has been a professor of Fiction Writing at Columbia University School of the Arts since 2003. Writings Kirshenbaum published her first book of ten short stories, ''Married Life and Other True Adventures'', in 1990. Beatrice "Binnie" Mary Hale-Monro (22 May 1899 – 10 January 1984) was an English actress, singer and dancer. She was one of the most successful musical theatre stars in London in the 1920s and 1930s, able to sing leading roles in operetta as well as musicals, and she was popular as a principal boy in pantomime. Her best-remembered roles were in the musicals '' No, No, Nanette'' (1925) and '' Mr. Cinders'' (1929), in which she sang " Spread a Little Happiness". William James Eames Binnie (10 October 1867 – 4 October 1949) was a British civil engineer. William was the son of Alexander Binnie, the famed civil engineer and William would enter the same career (as, in due course, would his own eldest son). He was educated at Trinity College, Cambridge before completing an apprenticeship with his father's firm. His primary area of work was in hydraulic engineering and he completed works in Britain, Egypt, Nigeria, Singapore, Hong Kong and Myanmar, Burma on reservoirs, dams and Hydroelectricity, hydroelectric power generation. William Binnie was a Presbyterianism, presbyterian minister. He was Professor of Systematic Theology to the Reformed Presbyterian Church of Scotland, Reformed Presbytery Synod as well as being their minister in Stirling. Alex Binnie (born Alexander Michael Steven Binnie, 11 July 1959, Oxford, England) is a tattooist, and printmaker; he has been a musician and performance artist. William Ian Corneil Binnie (born April 14, 1939) is a former puisne justice of the Supreme Court of Canada, serving from January 8, 1998 to October 27, 2011.
