William Flynn is a fictional character from the 1926 play ''Chicago'', written by Maurine Dallas Watkins, and its various derivative works and remakes. Character background Billy Flynn is one of the city of Chicago's most effective criminal defense lawyers; he can win any trial and usually represents women who have murdered their lovers. He has never lost a case involving a female defendant in his whole career, but in turn charges high fees for his services ($5,000, or roughly $91,000 in 2024), demands payment in full up-front, and never takes ''pro bono'' work. In rare cases, such as Roxie Hart's, he will take a discount rate in exchange for a cut of proceeds from selling ephemera and media rights fees related to the case. In the play, he defends Hart and her rival Velma Kelly, winning both cases. Bill Flynn
William Flynn (13 December 1948 – 11 July 2007) was a South African actor and comedian, perhaps best known for playing Tjokkie. Early life Flynn was born William Frederick Flynn in Cape Town and matriculated from Plumstead High School. He went to the UCT drama school and was a founder member of the Space theatre in Cape Town. He was the son of William Frederick and Mary Elizabeth (Née Morley) Overview Flynn was perhaps best known for his portrayal of Tjokkie, a character that he portrayed as a wise-cracking, beer drinking rugby union fan. Billy Flynn (born August 11, 1956) is an American Chicago blues and electric blues guitarist, singer and songwriter. In addition to his own work and works mentioned later, he has worked and recorded with Bryan Lee, Little Smokey Smothers, Mark Hummel, Willie Kent, Snooky Pryor, Big Bill Morganfield, John Brim, Jody Williams, Little Arthur Duncan, Deitra Farr, and Billy Boy Arnold. Biography Flynn was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin. In 1970, a local blues club opened and Flynn was inspired by the music provided there by Luther Allison, Johnny Littlejohn and Mighty Joe Young. Flynn was fortunate to be spotted playing outside the venue by Jimmy Dawkins, who arranged for Flynn to play with him on stage. William Flynn (born May 29, 1985) is an American actor and producer. He is known for portraying Chad DiMera on the NBC soap opera ''Days of Our Lives''. Early life Flynn was born in St. Francis, Minnesota. He graduated from St. Cloud State University in 2007, majoring in finance and minoring in economics. William Stephen Flynn (December 25, 1890 – January 24, 1944) was a prominent golf course architect during the early part of the 20th century. Flynn is most noted for designing Shinnecock Hills Golf Club on Long Island and Cherry Hills Country Club, Huntingdon Valley Country Club, Lancaster Country Club, and for his work at the Merion Golf Club. Flynn, along with A.W. Tillinghast, George C. Thomas, Jr., Hugh Wilson, George Crump, and William Fownes together made up the "Philadelphia School" of golf course architecture.
