Billy Bremner
William John Bremner (9 December 1942 – 7 December 1997) was a Scottish professional Association football, footballer who played for Leeds United F.C., Leeds United, Hull City A.F.C., Hull City, and the Scotland national football team, Scotland national team. He also managed Doncaster Rovers F.C., Doncaster Rovers (twice) and Leeds United. Regarded as one of football's great midfielders, Bremner combined precision passing skills with tenacious tackling and physical stamina. He played for Leeds United from 1959 to 1976, serving as captain from 1965 through the most successful period in the club's history, and winning two English football champions, League Championship medals and one FA Cup-winners medal. In total, he played 773 games for Leeds, scoring 114 goals. Having been a Scotland Schoolboys international, Bremner went on to play in 54 full internationals for Scotland, scoring three goals. William Murray Bremner (born 4 August 1946, in Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Scotland) is a Scottish guitarist, best known for his work in the band Rockpile and on many of Nick Lowe and Dave Edmunds' albums. He has also played with The Pretenders, Shakin' Stevens, Carlene Carter and The Coal Porters, as well as issuing four solo albums. Career overview Bremner first became known playing with The Luvvers, who served as Lulu's backing band. However, by the time Bremner joined the group in 1966, they were on the wane; Bremner did not play on any of Lulu's recorded material, and joined just after the group recorded their only single without Lulu ("The House on the Hill"/"Most Unlovely") for Parlophone in 1966. The Luvvers disbanded in 1967. In 1971, Bremner added some guitar work to ''March Hare'', the first solo album from ex-Honeybus member Colin Hare. William Bremner (23 June 1872 – 2 April 1957) was an Australian rules footballer who played with Melbourne in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Bremner came to Melbourne from Williamstown after playing 22 games without kicking a goal in 1898, 1900, 1901 & 1902, and was already aged 30 when he played his first league game. He appeared in 16 of Melbourne's 17 games in the 1903 VFL season The 1903 VFL season was the seventh season of the Victorian Football League (VFL), the highest-level senior Australian rules football competition in Victoria. Bill Bremner
Charles William Henry Chilcott Bremner (25 March 1879 – 4 November 1961) was a New Zealand lawn bowls player who won a gold medal in the men's fours at the 1938 British Empire Games. He also won four national lawn bowls titles. Biography Born in Dunedin on 25 March 1879, Bremner was the son of Mary Ann and George Goddard Bremner. He was educated in Dunedin, but spent much of his life in Invercargill, before moving to Auckland. He was a land agent and architect. On 26 December 1902, Bremner married Alice Genevieve McLachlan, and they had two children. Bremner won four New Zealand national bowls championship titles, representing the West End Bowling Club from Auckland: the men's fours in 1924 and 1929; and the men's pairs in 1932 and 1940.
