The Del McCoury Band is a Grammy Award-winning American bluegrass band. History Originally the band was called Del McCoury and the Dixie Pals with Del on guitar and his brother Jerry on bass. William George Baker (3 October 1920 – 6 February 2005) was a Welsh professional footballer. He made over 300 appearances for Cardiff City in a spell disrupted by the outbreak of World War II, winning one cap for Wales in 1948. Career Born in Penrhiwceiber, Baker began his career Troedrhiw before joining Cardiff City in January 1938, after having trials at a number of clubs including Arsenal and Wolverhampton Wanderers. He made his debut for the club in a 2–0 win over Northampton Town in February 1939 as an outside-right but would make just two more appearances before the outbreak of World War II. Junior and college football Bill Baker played junior football for the Regina Rams in 1963, and college football at Otterbein College, where he was a First Team All-Star for four years. Thomas William Baker (17 August 1905 – 30 March 1975), sometimes known as Billy Baker, was an English professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper in the Football League for Brentford, Southport, Northampton Town and Rochdale. Career A goalkeeper, Baker began his career in his native North East with Northern League clubs Usworth Colliery, Crook Town, Shotton Colliery Welfare and Chilton Colliery Recreation. He later earned a move to the Football League with Southport, for whom he made 65 appearances before departing in 1932. Baker signed for Third Division South club Brentford in 1932 on a free transfer.
