William Andrew White, III, (February 7, 1915 – January 23, 1981) was a Canadians, Canadian composer and social justice activist, who was the first Black Canadians, Black Canadian to run for federal office in Canada. Family and education He was born on 7 February 1915 in Truro, Nova Scotia, the son of Baptists, Baptist minister William A. White and his wife Izie Dora White. Among his twelve siblings included internationally renowned Canadian concert singer Portia White, labour union leader and politician Jack White (politician), Jack White, and television performer Lorne White. He was also the uncle of Donald H. Oliver, the first black male to sit in the Senate of Canada, through one of his sisters. His family moved to Halifax, Nova Scotia, Halifax where his father was minister of Cornwallis Street Baptist Church for nearly 20 years. Bill White (rugby Union, Born 1910)
William James White (23 June 1910 — 31 August 1977) was an Australian rugby union international. White was born in Sydney and educated at St Joseph's College, Hunters Hill, where he captained the 1st XV. A Randwick winger, White gained selection for the 1928 New South Wales tour of New Zealand, a mere eight months since leaving school. Two of his tour matches, against NZ XV and NZ Maori, were retrospectively granted Test status, due to New South Wales being effectively the country's sole representative team of the time. His third Test cap four years later came in Wallabies colours, as a left winger in a win over the All Blacks at the Sydney Cricket Ground. White, a fireman by profession, died in 1977 at the age of 67. The Amboy Dukes (band)
The Amboy Dukes were an American rock band formed in 1964 in Chicago, Illinois, and later based in Detroit, Michigan. They are best known for their only hit single, " Journey to the Center of the Mind". The band's name comes from the title of a novel by Irving Shulman. In the UK, the group's records were released under the name of the American Amboy Dukes, because of the existence of a British group with the same name. The band went through a number of personnel changes during its active years, the only constant being lead guitarist and composer Ted Nugent. The band transitioned to being Nugent's backing band before he discontinued the name in 1975. Origins Ted Nugent, the nucleus of the Amboy Dukes, was born and raised in Detroit and started performing in 1958 at age 10. Charles William White ( – 2006), known by his stage name "Country" Bill White, was an American burial artist who gained notoriety as the "living corpse" and was voluntarily buried alive as a publicity stunt throughout the 1960s–1980s. Career White was born in the Florida panhandle. He met burial artist Herbert "Digger" O'Dell Smith in 1964 and decided to attempt to endure voluntary burial himself. He was buried at Christie's Beachcomber in Galveston for 49 days, breaking O'Dell's record. By 1966, he was touring as "The Human Corpse" or "The Living Corpse", releasing a few tie-in country LPs as well. On June 9, 1966, he married Lottie White who also volunteered to be buried alive, billing herself as "Mrs. Living Corpse." The couple divorced in 1968. White married 7 times in his lifetime. Bill White is the former president of the Intrepid Sea-Air-Space Museum and Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund. In 2024, president-elect Donald Trump announced White as his nominee for United States Ambassador to Belgium. Life White was born in the late 1960s, is a native of Point Lookout, New York, and graduated Fordham University. Flight Lieutenant William George Searle White (10 February 1913 – 1969) was a rugby union player who represented Australia. White was born in Mackay, Queensland and played lock in club rugby for the University of Queensland Rugby Club. He made his debut for Queensland in 1931. Two years later he made his debut for the Wallabies, becoming the 286th player to do so and the sixth from the UQ rugby club.
