Ollie Hopnoodle's Haven Of Bliss
''Ollie Hopnoodle's Haven of Bliss'' is a 1988 American television film, made-for-television comedy film written by Jean Shepherd and directed by Dick Bartlett, based on the 1968 short story by Shepherd. A satire of childhood recollections of annual family vacations, it follows the Parker family (of ''A Christmas Story'') as they travel to a Michigan lakeside camp, the eponymous ''Haven''. It was a co-production of Disney Channel, The Disney Channel and PBS, and aired in that order, and was released on video. Plot The blue-collar working world of 1950s Indiana, with period-style footage and clips from Fritz Lang's ''Metropolis (1927 movie), Metropolis'', is accompanied by Shepherd's voiceover narration as the adult Ralph. ''A History of Violence'' is a 2005 action thriller film directed by David Cronenberg and written by Josh Olson. It is an adaptation of the 1997 DC Comics, DC A History of Violence (comics), graphic novel by John Wagner and Vince Locke. The film stars Viggo Mortensen, Maria Bello, Ed Harris, and William Hurt. In the film, a diner owner becomes a local hero after he foils an attempted robbery, but has to face his past enemies to protect his family. McDonald, a former editor at ''Newsday'' on Long Island, joined the ''New York Times'' in 1988 and has held numerous positions at the paper. He was the copy chief of the national news desk, assistant national editor, deputy editor of Arts & Leisure and deputy culture editor. Bill McDonald (born 1967) is an Australian journalist and news presenter. Career Previously McDonald had been a sports presenter but was promoted to news presenter when Geoff Mullins left ''Ten News''. He was also a sports presenter on ''Seven News''. In the summer of January 2010, McDonald presented '' Ten Early News'', ''Ten Morning News'' and ''Ten Weekend News'' from Sydney. In 2011, McDonald continued to present '' 10 News First Queensland'' and also continued to be the Queensland AFL ground commentator for Ten's national AFL coverage, mainly for matches involving the Brisbane Lions. McDonald is active in other media and events in Brisbane. He broadcasts daily AFL reports on the Macquarie Southern Cross national radio network daily, as well as his Friday footy tips on Sunshine Coast's 92.7 Mix FM.
