Bill Andrews (born 1966) is an American drummer. He is best known for his work with Death and Massacre. He lives in Japan. Death was an American death metal band formed in Altamonte Springs, Florida, in 1984 by Chuck Schuldiner. Death is considered to be among the most influential bands in heavy metal music and a pioneering force in death metal. The band's 1987 debut album, '' Scream Bloody Gore'', has been widely regarded as one of the first death metal records, alongside the first records from Possessed and Necrophagia. Death had a revolving lineup, with Schuldiner being the sole consistent member. The group's style also progressed, from the raw sound on its first two albums to a more sophisticated one in its later stage. The band ceased to exist after Schuldiner died of glioma and pneumonia in December 2001, but remains an enduring influence on heavy metal. Massacre (briefly known as Massacre X and Gods of Death) is an American death metal band. They were formed in 1984 by Allen West, Bill Andrews, and Mike Borders, soon after vocalist Kam Lee joined. The band has reunited several times with varying line-ups, most recently in late 2016. History Massacre were formed in 1984 by Allen West (guitar), Bill Andrews (drums), Mike Borders (bass) and soon joined by Kam Lee. After their first demo their line-up settled with Rick Rozz (formerly of Mantas, an early incarnation of Death) on guitar, and bassist Terry Butler. They disbanded and re-united again several times. A drummer is a percussionist who creates music using drums. ''Leprosy'' is the second studio album by American death metal band Death, released on August 12, 1988, by Combat Records. The album is notable in its different tone and quality from the band's 1987 debut, it is the first example of Scott Burns' work heard on many of the death metal and grindcore albums of that era. The cover is featured in '' Metal: A Headbanger's Journey''. It is the first album to feature drummer Bill Andrews and the only one to feature guitarist Rick Rozz. In a poll by the German '' Rock Hard'' magazine, ''Leprosy'' was voted the number one of the 25 most important death metal albums of all time. ''Spiritual Healing'' is the third studio album by American death metal band Death, released on February 16, 1990, by Combat Records. It is the band's only album to feature both guitarist James Murphy and bassist Terry Butler and the last to feature drummer Bill Andrews. Overview ''Spiritual Healing'' was the first of Death's albums to show Schuldiner's lyrics moving away from the gore and horror themes of previous works, focusing instead on themes of society and "real life horror", including serial killers, drug addiction, genetic reconstruction (influenced by a story on '' That's Incredible!''), and faith healers. ''From Beyond'' is the debut studio album by American death metal band Massacre, released in 1991 on Earache Records. The album was re-released with a different cover (original is red) and the '' Inhuman Condition'' EP as bonus tracks. The album was recorded in March 1991 at Morrisound Recording in Tampa, Florida. "Corpsegrinder" was originally recorded by the band Death, of which all members of Massacre have been a part in the past. The album's title is based on H. P. Lovecraft's the short story of the same name, and the cover art was painted by Ed Repka. The band's vocalist, Kam Lee, hates the original pink album cover art done by Ed Repka and the changing of the band logo as he claims it "looks like the Superman logo."
