Big Four (cycling)
The Big Four is a nickname for the quartet of professional cyclists Tadej Pogačar, Jonas Vingegaard, Primož Roglič, and Remco Evenepoel, who dominated stage races in road cycling in the 2020s, particularly at the Grand Tours. Starting with the 2019 Vuelta a España, the four riders have collectively won 12 of 17 Grand Tours, along with many other major stage races. Cycling journalists have described the four as having a "lockdown" on winning cycling's biggest races. The nickname gained prominence in 2024, particularly in the coverage of the 2024 Tour de France, where all four riders competed. Tadej Pogačar (; born 21 September 1998) is a Slovenia, Slovenian professional road bicycle racing, cyclist who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . Tirreno–Adriatico
Tirreno–Adriatico, nicknamed the "Race of the Two Seas", is an elite road bicycle racing, road cycling stage race in Italy, run between the Tyrrhenian Sea, Tyrrhenian and Adriatic Sea, Adriatic coasts. Traditionally held in the early part of the season, and usually counter-programmed with the Paris-Nice/'Race to the Sun', it is considered to be an important preparation for the Giro d'Italia. The men's road time trial event at the 2020 Summer Olympics took place on 28 July 2021 around the Fuji Speedway in the Shizuoka Prefecture. 39 cyclists from 31 nations competed in the race, with everyone bar one rider eventually finishing. Sepp Kuss (born September 13, 1994) is an American professional cyclist who rides for UCI WorldTeam . He won the 2023 Vuelta a España, becoming the first American to win a Grand Tour (cycling), Grand Tour since Chris Horner in 2013 Vuelta a España, 2013. Kuss is the second cyclist to win a Grand Tour and finish all three Grand Tours in a single season, after Gastone Nencini in 1957. Born in Durango, Colorado, Kuss started as a Mountain biking, mountain biker and won three collegiate national championships at the University of Colorado Boulder. The 2023 Vuelta a España was a three-week men's cycling race taking place in Spain between 26 August and 17 September 2023. It was the 78th edition of the Vuelta a España and was won by Sepp Kuss. The 2022 Vuelta a España was a three-week cycling race which took place in the Netherlands and Spain between 19 August and 11 September 2022. In road bicycle racing, a domestique is a rider who works for the benefit of their cycling team, team and leader, rather than trying to win the race. In French, ''domestique'' translates as "servant".However, in French, the term used is ''équipier''.
