Big Brother (Swedish TV Series)
''Big Brother'' or ''Big Brother Sverige'' was the Swedish language, Swedish version of the ''Big Brother (franchise), Big Brother'' reality television franchise, which was created by producer John de Mol Jr. and premiered in 2000. The show featured contestants who lived together in custom-built house and were isolated from the outside world. One person was evicted every week by public vote, with the last remaining housemate winning a cash prize. The show aired on Kanal 5 (Swedish TV channel), Kanal 5 from 2002–2004, on Kanal 11 (Swedish TV channel), Kanal 11 from 2011–2015, and on Sjuan from 2020–2021. TV4 (Swedish TV channel), TV4 cancelled ''Big Brother Sverige'' on Christmas Eve in 2021, after 9 seasons and 913 episodes, due to low ratings. Per Olof Holknekt, (born 27 April 1960) is a Swedish fashion designer and entrepreneur. He is also the founder of several magazines and companies, the most successful of which is the clothing company Odd Molly. Life and career Holknekt grew up in Falun, Dalarna. His father was a police officer and his mother was a school principal. He moved to Hermosa Beach, California, in 1980, and for several years was a professional skateboarder, winning several international competitions. In 1984, while in California, he founded the skateboarding magazine ''Transworld Skateboarding''. He returned to Sweden in 1984 and studied economics at IHM Business School, after which he started the skateboard company Street Style with his brother Thomas. Arantxa Isabel Álvarez Garri (born 17 November 1991) is a Swedish television presenter and singer. She grew up in Norrköping as her parents had fled Chile as refugees following the 1973 coup. Career Alvarez participated in ''Idol 2013'' broadcast on TV4 and made it to the Top 20. She was then eliminated during the Semi Final qualifying round. TV4 (''TV fyra'') is a Sweden, Swedish free-to-air Television in Sweden, television network owned by TV4 AB, a subsidiary of the TV4 Media, TV4 Media AB. It started broadcasting by satellite in 1990 and, since 1992, on terrestrial television. In 1994, TV4 became the largest channel and remained so for a number of years. ''Big Brother Sverige 2020'' is the eighth season of the Swedish Big Brother and the eleventh season of ''Big Brother'' overall to air in Sweden. ''Big Brother'' celebrated its 20th anniversary and the show returned to Sweden after a five-year break. On 24 September 2019, TV4 announced that they will revive the show in early 2020. This season officially started on 10 February 2020 on TV4. Malin Stenbäck and Adrian Boberg co-hosted the show, Moa Wallin and Helle Schunnesson were the sidekicks of the live show.
