South Korean boy band Big Bang have released eight studio albums, eight extended plays, two reissues, eight compilation albums, ten live albums, seven single albums, and 36 singles. As of May 2017, the group has sold over 4.3 million physical albums in South Korea and Japan alone. BigBang's debut studio album was released in December 2006. It spawned several singles, including "La La La" and "A Fool's Only Tears". The group achieved commercial success with " Lies", the lead single of their first extended play, ''Always'' (2007), which topped the Melon Chart for six consecutive weeks. BigBang (South Korean Band)
BigBang (; stylized in all caps) is a South Korean boy band formed by YG Entertainment. The group consists of three members: G-Dragon, Taeyang, and Daesung. Originally a five-piece band, Seungri retired from the entertainment industry in March 2019 and T.O.P left in May 2023. Dubbed the "Honorific nicknames in popular music, Kings of K-pop", they helped spread the Korean Wave internationally and are considered one of the most influential acts in K-pop. ''Stand Up'' is the third Korean extended play by South Korean boy group Big Bang, it was released on August 8, 2008. The Oricon Singles Chart is the Japanese music industry-standard Single (music), singles popularity chart issued daily, weekly, monthly and yearly by Oricon. Chart rankings are based on physical singles' sales. Until 2017, Oricon did not track download sales. In Japan, physical sales decreased sharply in the 2000s, while download sales hit three to four times the amount of single sales. In November 2017, Oricon introduced its first digital songs chart, separate from its main physical singles chart. On December 24, 2018, Oricon launched a streaming chart, and introduced a combined singles chart that utilizes physical single sales, downloads, and streams. ''Big Bang'' (also known as ''1st Japanese Album'') is the second Japanese studio album by South Korean boy band BigBang (South Korean band), BigBang, and was released on August 19, 2009. Production Production of the album started from the release of the group's first Japanese single, "My Heaven (Big Bang song), My Heaven", in June 2009.
