Hebrew Language
Hebrew (; ''ʿÎbrit'') is a Northwest Semitic language within the Afroasiatic language family. A regional dialect of the Canaanite languages, it was natively spoken by the Israelites and remained in regular use as a first language until after 200 CE and as the liturgical language of Judaism (since the Second Temple period) and Samaritanism. The language was revived as a spoken language in the 19th century, and is the only successful large-scale example of linguistic revival. It is the only Canaanite language, as well as one of only two Northwest Semitic languages, with the other being Aramaic, still spoken today. David (; , "beloved one") was a king of ancient Israel and Judah and the third king of the United Monarchy, according to the Hebrew Bible and Old Testament. Dov Lior
Dov Lior (; born 30 October 1933) is an Israeli Orthodox rabbi and political figure part of a far-right, nationalist movement for an ethnic and religious state. He served as the Chief Rabbi of Kiryat Arba, a Jewish settlement near the West Bank town of Hebron, until late 2014. He is the dean (or rosh yeshiva) of the Kiryat Arba IDF- Hesder Yeshiva and leads the council of rabbis for the West Bank settlements. Yisrael Rosen
Yisrael Rosen (; 1941 – November 1, 2017) was an Orthodox Judaism, Orthodox Israelis, Israeli rabbi. He founded the office for conversion to Judaism in the Chief Rabbinate of Israel and he was a judge there. He was also director of the Zomet Institute for the interface of halakhah and technology and the editor-in-chief of the annual journal Techumin published by that institute. He edited the weekly newsletter Shabbat B'Shabbato and wrote a weekly column therein. He wrote commentaries about the Rabbinic interpretations of Tanakh (the Hebrew Bible). Yaakov Ariel
Yaakov Ariel () is the former chief rabbi of the city of Ramat Gan, Israel, and one of the leading rabbis of the religious Zionist movement. Ariel had served as the rosh yeshiva of the yeshiva in the abandoned Israeli settlement of Yamit in the Sinai Peninsula until 1982, and is currently the president of the Ramat Gan Yeshiva (roshei yeshiva are Rabbis Yehoshua Shapira and Ben-Tzion Moshe Elgazi). Eliyahu Bakshi-Doron
Eliyahu Bakshi-Doron (; April 5, 1941 – April 12, 2020) was an Israeli rabbi who served as Rishon LeZion (Chief Rabbi of Israel) from 1993 to 2003. Prior to that he served as Sephardi Chief Rabbi of Bat Yam and Sephardi Chief Rabbi of Haifa. Yuval Cherlow (; born 1957) is a Modern Orthodox rabbi and posek. He is Rosh Yeshiva of Yeshivat Hesder Amit Orot Shaul in Tel Aviv, Israel. ''HaTzofe'' (, ''The Observer'') was a Hebrew-language daily newspaper published in Israel. In April 2007, it was reduced to weekly publication until its closing over a year later. According to the paper's website, its point of view is Zionist, nationalist and religious. It claimed to be the only daily newspaper of the Israeli political right, with an emphasis on religious Zionism. The newspaper had been associated in its past to the Mizrachi movement as well as being the beacon of National Religious Party. Shlomo Chaim Hacohen Aviner (; born 1943/5703 as ''Claude Langenauer'') is an Israeli Orthodox rabbi.
