Japanese-Language Proficiency Test
The , or JLPT, is a standardized criterion-referenced test to evaluate and certify Japanese language proficiency for non-native speakers, covering language knowledge, reading ability, and listening ability. The test is held twice a year in Japan and selected countries (on the first Sunday of July and December), and once a year in other regions (either on the first Sunday of December or July depending on region). The JLPT is conducted by the Japan Foundation for tests overseas (with cooperation of local host institutions), and Japan Educational Exchanges and Services for tests in Japan. The JLPT consists of five independent levels of certification, with 5 the lowest and 1 the highest. Until 2009, the test had four levels of certification. JLPT certificates do not expire or become invalid over time. History The JLPT was first held in 1984 in response to the growing demand for standardized Japanese language certification. Initially, 7,000 people took the test. Until 2003, the JLPT ...

London Buses Route N5
The London Night Bus network is a series of night bus routes that serve Greater London. Services broadly operate between the hours of 23:00 and 06:00. Many services commence from or operate via Trafalgar Square and are extensions or variations of daytime routes and hence derive their number from these; for example, route N73 from Oxford Circus to Walthamstow Central follows that of route 73 as far as Stoke Newington, before continuing further north. History The first night bus was introduced in 1913. By 1920 there were two 'All Night Bus Services' in operation named the 94 and 94a running from 23:30 to 05:30. A few more services were introduced over the following decades, but all ceased during World War II. Services resumed after the war, increasing as trams and trolleybuses were replaced in the late 1950s and 1960s. In 1978 London Transport listed 21 all-night bus routes. On many of these routes, "all-night" service meant a departure frequency of no more than one bus an hou ...

Pentazenium
In chemistry, the pentazenium cation (also known as pentanitrogen) is a positively-charged polyatomic ion with the chemical formula and structure . Together with solid nitrogen polymers and the azide anion, it is one of only three poly-nitrogen species obtained in bulk quantities. History Within the High Energy Density Matter research program, run by the U.S. Air Force since 1986, systematic attempts to approach polynitrogen compounds began in 1998, when Air Force Research Laboratory at Edwards AFB became interested in researching alternatives to the highly toxic hydrazine-based rocket fuel and simultaneously funded several such proposals. Karl O. Christe, then, a senior investigator at AFRL, chose to attempt building linear out of and , based on the proposed bond structure: : The reaction succeeded, and was created in sufficient quantities to be fully characterized by NMR, IR and Raman spectroscopy in 1999. The salt was highly explosive, but when was replaced by , a stron ...

LNER Class N5
The Great Central Railway (GCR) Class 9F was a class of 0-6-2T steam locomotive built between 1891 and 1901. From 1923 the locomotives were redesignated Class N5. Design and construction Designed by Thomas Parker for the Manchester, Sheffield and Lincolnshire Railway (MS&LR), the prototype 9F was built in 1891. A total of 12 batches were constructed up to 1901, with 131 locos being completed. The MS&LR changed its name to the GCR in 1897. The GCR 9F locos were reclassified as N5 under the LNER locomotive numbering and classification system when the GCR was absorbed into the London & North Eastern Railway after the 1923 grouping. It was the first design for a British railway to use the Belpaire firebox The Belpaire firebox is a type of firebox used on steam locomotives. It was invented by Alfred Belpaire of Belgium in 1864. Today it generally refers to the shape of the outer shell of the firebox which is approximately flat at the top and s .... Operation and use The ...

N5 (song)
"N5" is a song recorded by Argentine singer Lali. The song was released by Sony Music Argentina on 22 June 2022, as the fourth single from Lali's fifth studio album, '' Lali'' (2023). The song was written by Lali, Martín D'Agosto and its producer Mauro De Tommaso. The song's title references the famous perfume Chanel No. 5 by Coco Chanel. Lyrics and composition "N5" is a pop song with elements of house and flamenco. The incorporation of elements of Spanish culture into her music is only natural as Lali had settled in Spain between 2019 and 2022 to film '' Sky Rojo''. In fact, Lautaro Furiolo, the director of the single's music video, revealed that Lali wrote the song with the Madrilenian night in mind. Its lyrics find Lali describing a same-sex relationship for the first time after coming out as bisexual some years before. Background and release The song was released on 22 June 2022, one day before Lali kicked off her Disciplina Tour. Once "N5" was released, fans and the m ...

5 Nanometer
In semiconductor manufacturing, the International Roadmap for Devices and Systems defines the "5 nm" process as the MOSFET technology node following the "7 nm" node. In 2020, Samsung and TSMC entered volume production of "5 nm" chips, manufactured for companies including Apple, Huawei, Mediatek, Qualcomm and Marvell. The term "5 nm" does not indicate that any physical feature (such as gate length, metal pitch or gate pitch) of the transistors is five nanometers in size. Historically, the number used in the name of a technology node represented the gate length, but it started deviating from the actual length to smaller numbers (by Intel) around 2011. According to the projections contained in the 2021 update of the International Roadmap for Devices and Systems published by IEEE Standards Association Industry Connection, the 5 nm node is expected to have a gate length of 18 nm, a contacted gate pitch of 51 nm, and a tightest metal pitch of 30 nm. ...

Pentazolium
Pentazole is an aromatic molecule consisting of a five-membered ring with all nitrogen atoms, one of which is bonded to a hydrogen atom. It has the molecular formula . Although strictly speaking a homocyclic, inorganic compound, pentazole has historically been classed as the last in a series of heterocyclic azole compounds containing one to five nitrogen atoms. This set contains pyrrole, imidazole, pyrazole, triazoles, tetrazole, and pentazole. Derivatives Substituted analogs of pentazole are collectively known as pentazoles. As a class, they are unstable and often highly explosive compounds. The first pentazole synthesized was phenylpentazole, where the pentazole ring is highly stabilized by conjugation with the phenyl ring. The derivative 4-dimethylaminophenylpentazole is among the most stable pentazole compounds known, although it still decomposes at temperatures over 50 °C. It is known that electron-donating groups stabilize aryl pentazole compounds. Ions The c ...

Pentazolate
In chemistry, a pentazolate is a compound that contains a ''cyclo''-N5− ion, the anion of pentazole. In 2017, researchers prepared the first salt (N5)6(H3O)3(NH4)4Cl containing pentazolate anion starting a substituted phenylpentazole, ''m''-CPBA and iron(II) glycinate.Zhang, C., Sun, C., Hu, B., Yu, C., & Lu, M. (2017). Synthesis and characterization of the pentazolate anion ''cyclo''-N5− in (N5)6(H3O)3(NH4)4Cl. Science, 355(6323), 374–376. A series of metal and nonmetal pentazolates were subsequently synthesized according to their work. Modular Lattice
In the branch of mathematics called order theory, a modular lattice is a lattice that satisfies the following self- dual condition, ;Modular law: implies where are arbitrary elements in the lattice,  ≤  is the partial order, and  ∨  and  ∧ (called join and meet respectively) are the operations of the lattice. This phrasing emphasizes an interpretation in terms of projection onto the sublattice , a fact known as the diamond isomorphism theorem. An alternative but equivalent condition stated as an equation (see below) emphasizes that modular lattices form a variety in the sense of universal algebra. Modular lattices arise naturally in algebra and in many other areas of mathematics. In these scenarios, modularity is an abstraction of the 2nd Isomorphism Theorem. For example, the subspaces of a vector space (and more generally the submodules of a module over a ring) form a modular lattice. In a not necessarily modular lattice, there may ...
