Oberhof, Germany
Oberhof is a town in the Schmalkalden-Meiningen Districts of Germany, district of Thuringia, Germany. Located in the Thuringian Forest mountain range, it is a winter sports center and destination spa, health resort. With 1,625 inhabitants (December 2016), it is visited by 144,000 tourists every year (2016). The town obtained its official city status in 1985. History Oberhof was first mentioned in a document in 1470. The village in the Black Forest department belonged to various Ernestine duchies, most recently to the Duchy of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha from 1826 to 1918. In 1830, Ernest I, Duke of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha had a hunting lodge built. In 1861 the first vacation guests came to the village. With the completion of the Brandleite Tunnel of the Neudietendorf-Ritschenhausen railway, Oberhof received a railroad connection in 1884, which enabled the expansion of tourism. Yuliia Valentynivna Dzhyma (; born 19 September 1990) is a Ukrainian World Cup level biathlete. She is Olympic champion in women's relay, multiple World championships medalist. She is one of the most successful Ukrainian biathletes of the 2010s. Career She took up biathlon in Kyiv, where she lives. She wasn't seen as a promising rising athlete at the beginning of her sporting career. She didn't show promising results in skiing, so trainers were doubtful whether she would be a good biathlete. In January 2008, she competed in her first international competition, Junior World Championships in German Ruhpolding. For the next three years, she was a member of the Ukrainian junior team. Lisa Theresa Hauser (born 16 December 1993) is an Austrian biathlete. She competed at the Biathlon World Championships 2013, and at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, sprint, pursuit and individual. Amy Baserga (born 29 September 2000) is a Swiss biathlete. She competed in the 2022 Winter Olympics. Career Baserga was a successful junior competitor in biathlon, winning six medals at the Biathlon Junior World Championships. She competed in four biathlon events at the 2022 Winter Olympics. She was part of the Swiss team in the mixed relay, placing 8th out of 20 teams. She placed 69th out of 89 competitors in the individual event, 54th out of 89 competitors in the sprint, and 39th out of 60 competitors in the pursuit. Ragnhild Femsteinevik (born 27 August 1995) is a Norwegian biathlete. Career IBU Cup and First European Championship Medals Ragnhild Femsteinevik is a member of the Hålandsdal IL club. Her debut on the international stage occurred at the 2016 Junior World Championships in Cheile Grădiștei, Romania, where she secured the 27th position in the individual race. Anna Magnusson
Anna Magnusson (born 31 March 1995) is a Swedish female biathlete. She represented Sweden at the 2014 and 2015 junior world championships and at the 2015 World Championships in Kontiolahti. Together with Linn Persson, Elvira Öberg, and Hanna Öberg, she won her first World Cup competition victory on 11 December 2021 in Hochfilzen. On 16 December 2022, she took her first individual World Cup competition podium place when winning a World Cup sprint competition in Le Grand-Bornand.
