Beware Of Blondie
''Beware of Blondie'' is a 1950 American black and white comedy film and is the last of Columbia's 28 Blondie films in 12 years. Plot summary Mr. Dithers goes on vacation, and leaves Dagwood in charge of the office. He arrives exhausted, having worked late on his tax return and being awakened by garbage collectors. Dagwood is recognized the next day taking an attractive female business client to lunch at a French restaurant. Blondie learns of this, is jealous, and insists that Dagwood start eating only from a lunchbox. However, remembering Mr. Dithers' insistence that he land the business contract, Dagwood takes the client out a second time, and follows her to her apartment afterward where she tries to seduce him. Blondie finally exposes the woman as a dangerous swindler. Edward Bernds
Edward Bernds (July 12, 1905May 20, 2000) was an American screenwriter and director, born in Chicago, Illinois. Career While in his junior year in Lake View High School, he and several friends formed a small radio clique and obtained amateur licenses. In the early 1920s, there was considerable prestige for amateur operators to have commercial radio licenses, and Bernds was in a good position to enter broadcasting when he graduated in 1923, a year when radio stations began to be established all over Chicago. He found employment — at age 20 — as chief operator at Chicago's WENR. When talking pictures began in the late 1920s, Bernds and broadcast operators like him relocated to Hollywood to work as sound technicians in "the talkies". After a brief period at United Artists, Bernds resigned and worked at Columbia Pictures, where he functioned as sound engineer on many of Frank Capra's classics in the 1930s. Dick Wessel
Richard Michael Wessel (April 20, 1913 – April 20, 1965) was an American film actor who appeared in more than 270 films between 1935 and 1966. He is best remembered for his only leading role, a chilling portrayal of strangler Harry "Cueball" Lake in ''Dick Tracy vs. Cueball'' (1946), and for his appearances as comic villains opposite The Three Stooges. Biography Wessel was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. His burly frame established him as a character player in feature films of the 1930s and '40s. At first he was a bit player; in Laurel and Hardy's '' Bonnie Scotland'' (1935), he was a blacksmith's assistant (with no dialogue). Gradually his roles became larger and he was given a few lines of dialogue, as in '' Yankee Doodle Dandy'' where he played a veteran soldier.
