Bert Evans
Bert Evans (August 10, 1922 – May 8, 2008) was a association football, soccer player. Born in Scotland, he earned one cap (sports), cap for the United States men's national soccer team, United States national team in an 8–1 loss to England national football team, England on May 28, 1959. Evans signed professional forms with Swansea City F.C., Swansea Town on his 17th birthday in August 1939. Just three weeks later, however, war broke out and the Football League suspended operations. Evans would never get the chance to shine for his hometown team. He joined the Royal Air Force and played for their representative XI when stationed in Egypt. After the hostilities, Evans rebuilt his football career, signing for Lovell's Athletic F.C., Lovell's Athletic. After winning the Welsh Football League, the club graduated to the Southern Football League, Southern League in 1947. Bertram Evans
Bertram Sutton Evans (17 December 1872 — 2 March 1919) was an English first-class cricketer and Royal Navy officer. He was commissioned into the Royal Navy from the Britannia Royal Naval College. Evans would hold a number of commands throughout his career, which was not without controversy, with him being reprimanded by the Admiralty on three occasions. He would see action in the First World War and was present at the Battle of the Falkland Islands commanding the armed merchant cruiser . In addition to his naval career, Evans was also a first-class cricketer, representing Hampshire on five occasions between 1900 and 1909. Patrick Douglas Conway (January 9, 1931 – April 24, 1981) was an American actor best known for starring as Sheriff Clay Hollister on the Western television series ''Tombstone Territory'' (1957–1960). Early years The son of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer director Jack Conway, and grandson of Francis X. Bushman, Conway grew up on the family's 125-acre ranch in Pacific Palisades, Los Angeles, where he learned horsemanship and cattle herding. Conway graduated from Menlo Junior College in San Francisco. After college, he took acting classes at the Pasadena Playhouse, then studied acting at the London Shakespearean theater at The Old Vic. ''House of Secrets'' is a 1936 American mystery thriller film directed by Roland D. Reed and starring Leslie Fenton, Muriel Evans and Noel Madison. It is based on the 1926 British novel '' The House of Secrets'' by Sydney Horler, which Chesterfield Pictures had previously made into a 1929 film '' The House of Secrets''. Plot summary The film opens on a ship where Barry Wilding and Julie Kenmore meet on their way to England. Upon reaching there, Barry learns that he has inherited a house that belonged to his ancestors. To see how it looks, he goes there one night but finds that it has been occupied by an old man and his daughter, the same girl he met on the ship. The mystery deepens when he discovers that suspicious people are after the house and strange things are happening.
