Yiddish, historically Judeo-German, is a West Germanic language historically spoken by Ashkenazi Jews. Bruce Berman (born April 25, 1952) is an American film industry executive and executive producer. He is the chairman and CEO of Village Roadshow Pictures, a position he has held from 1997 to 2021. Harris Alan Berman (May 30, 1938 – October 30, 2021) was an American physician and was the dean of the Tufts University School of Medicine. Early life and education Berman was born on May 30, 1938 in Concord, New Hampshire. He completed his undergraduate education at Harvard College and graduated from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1964. Geoffrey Steven Berman (born September 12, 1959) is an American attorney who served as the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York from 2018 to 2020. Fred Berman, born Fred Jean Berman (November 3, 1926 – November 6, 2011), was a Jewish American abstract artist. Early life Fred Berman was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in 1926 to father Ezra Berman and mother Frances, children of Russian Jews who immigrated to the American Midwest. He was the youngest of four children. Due to a possible heart condition in his youth, he was told to avoid physical exertion and focused his energies on chess and art. Berman was an adept chess player, winning the junior Milwaukee city-wide championship four consecutive years. Eugène Berman (; 4 November 1899, Saint Petersburg, Russia – 14 December 1972, Rome) and his brother Leonid Berman (1896 – 1976) were Russian Neo-romantic painters and theater and opera designers. Early years Born in Russia, the Bermans studied art in Europe, before returning to begin their formal art education with the Russian realist painter P.S. Naumoff. David Cloud Berman (born David Craig Berman; January 4, 1967 – August 7, 2019) was an American musician, singer-songwriter and poet. In 1989, he founded – and was the only constant member of – the indie rock band Silver Jews with Pavement (band), Pavement's Stephen Malkmus and Bob Nastanovich. With Malkmus, he developed the simple country-rock sound that characterized the early Lo-fi (music), lo-fi recordings of both Pavement and Silver Jews.
