Beohari (Vidhan Sabha Constituency)
Beohari is one of the 230 Vidhan Sabha (Legislative Assembly) constituencies of Madhya Pradesh state in central India. This constituency came into existence in 1951, as one of the 48 Vidhan Sabha constituencies of the erstwhile Vindhya Pradesh state. It remained double-member until general elections of 1957 after the merge of Vindhya Pradesh into Madhya Pradesh, however it became single-member seat in the general elections of 1962 of Madhya Pradesh. The Indian National Congress won a majority of seats and Arjun Singh was sworn in as the new Chief Minister but was forced to resign as Chief Minister after just one day due to differences with Sriniwas Tiwari. Beohari
Beohari is a major town and a nagar panchayat in Shahdol district in the state of Madhya Pradesh, India. It is from the main district of Shahdol and away from Bhopal, the state capital. Its geographical coordinates are 24° 3' 0" North, 81° 23' 0" East. Beohari is rich in mineral resources, including marble, iron ore, clay, sand and unexplored petroleum products. Elections to the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly were held on 28 November 2018 to elect members of the 230 constituencies in Madhya Pradesh. It is believed that the election was a direct political battle between the BJP and the INC. One of the main centers of attraction was the contest between Congress heavy-weight Arun Yadav and the then Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. While the Shivraj Singh Chouhan government had tried to win for consecutive 4th term, the INC fought for winning the state after 2003.
