Benito Di Paula
Uday Vellozo, with stage name of Benito di Paula (born November 28, 1941), is a Brazilian singer-songwriter, composer, pianist and writer. He is known for his characteristic samba that started when he was young and sang in hotels and nightclubs in Rio de Janeiro, where he did not play a specific genre. Di Paula was invited by a friend to play in Santos, São Paulo, Santos, where he led his career in the São Paulo (state), State of São Paulo. He settled down and raised a family in São Paulo, where he developed his career, becoming the great symbol of ''Samba Paulista''. Between the 70s and 80s he achieved great fame, having sold 50 million records until today, being the 5th largest record seller in Brazil. The Sistema Brasileiro de Televisão (; SBT ; "Brazilian Television System") is a Brazilian free-to-air television network founded on Wednesday, 19 August 1981, by the businessman and television personality Silvio Santos. Elizabeth "Beth" Santos Leal de Carvalho (May 5, 1946 – April 30, 2019) was a Brazilian samba singer, guitarist, cavaquinist and composer. Biography Carvalho was raised in a middle-class family in Rio de Janeiro's South Zone. Her father, João Francisco Leal de Carvalho, was a lawyer. She grew up influenced by different types of music. Her father used to take her to samba school rehearsals, and her mother was a lover of classical music who encouraged her to become a ballerina. She started playing the guitar as a teenager, and got involved with the emerging Bossa Nova movement, winning a nationwide song contest on TV at the age of 19. Crooner
A crooner is a singer who performs with a smooth, intimate style that originated in the 1920s. The crooning style was made possible by better microphones that picked up quieter sounds and a wider range of frequencies, allowing the singer to access a greater dynamic range and exploit the proximity effect. This suggestion of intimacy was supposedly wildly attractive to women, especially a youth subculture known at the time as " bobby soxers". The crooning style developed among singers who performed with big bands, and reached its height in the 1940s to late 1960s.
