Ben Cohen (1907–1971) was an author, publisher, and distributor of contract bridge books and stationery supplies. He pioneered duplicate bridge in the UK in the early 1930s and helped develop the Acol bidding system in the mid-1930s. He and the young Terence Reese wrote the first, and for a long time the only, textbook of the Acol system, ''The Acol Two Club'' (1938). He also contributed to newspapers and journals in South Africa, India, and Japan as well as the UK. Cohen was from Hove. Cohen and Rhoda Barrow edited the European ''Bridge Players' Encyclopedia'', published 1967 and based on the American '' Official Encyclopedia of Bridge'' (1964). Bennett Cohen (born March 18, 1951) is an American businessman, activist and philanthropist. He is a co-founder of the ice cream company Ben & Jerry's. Early life Cohen was born in Brooklyn, New York, and raised in the town of Merrick, New York, Merrick, New York, on Long Island by Jewish parents Frances and Irving. He spent at least one summer at Buck's Rock Performing and Creative Arts Camp in New Milford, Connecticut, New Milford, Connecticut. Powerglove (band)
Powerglove is an American instrumental power metal cover band. They are known to play metal cover versions of classic video game themes. The band is named after the Power Glove, a NES controller accessory. History Formation, ''Total Pwnage'', and ''Metal Kombat'' (2003 - 2008) The band was started as a side project of the members' various other bands. A melodic death metal band all the members were in disbanded, and the group decided to further develop Powerglove. The band's first recording was "Dr. Wily's Theme" from ''Mega Man 2'' in early 2003, which was followed by "Storm Eagle" from ''Mega Man X'' and the theme from ''Mighty Morphin Power Rangers''. The band records their music in various locations and mixes them in a home studio. The band recorded and released its debut EP, '' Total Pwnage'', in 2005 (later re-released in 2008). Ben Cohen (; born January 9, 1968) is an Israeli photographer. Career In 1996, Cohen began working as a photographer for the local network of Yedioth Ahronoth. During that time, he established a photography studio and specialized in classic studio photography. In parallel with his photography career, he worked in the high-tech and low-tech industries. He then turned to a career as a freelance photojournalist, and his work was widely published in newspapers and magazines in Israel and internationally, including cover photos and magazine articles. Cohen has documented the protests against the judicial reform from their inception.
